wonder what made her remove it?0

Watchdog won't do a damn thing - I have written to them hundreds of times over much worse stuff and have never had any response. Let alone helping someone who got herself into hot water and wasn't, for example, ripped off.
As for court - I think CarlaHostie would find that she's the one who'd end up spending thousands over 'a few flowers' - lawyers cost £150/hour. Is it really worth it? The flowers guy probably has legal insurance or whatever it's called. There's little point the man on the street taking on these businesses.0 -
I removed it because i didn't realise it would provoke such a reaction! The MD himself signed his letter aged 24 1/2 so who is being the childish one here then?0
-
Just be careful Carla, cos any court action is ridiculously expensive [and trust me I should know]. If he's serious, then I suggest you just pay what he feels you owe him. Don't try and prove a point. Up to you, of course, at the end of the day.0

Just a suggestion (so don't shoot me) but....
Why don't you offer him a token amount to clear this matter up, say £1 per bunch you ordered. You know you did wrong in a way and I suspect you both (you and Mr 24.5 years old !!) want this cleared up without admitting liability.
Surely offering a token £1 per order as a 'gesture of goodwill' and getting this case closed before it goes any further will be to everyone benefit. They would be silly to refuse IMHO.0 -
Totally agree with Groomy. Win-win.0

she wants to get out of this scot free but hopefully she wont0

This would be ideal but the only thing is if he decided not to accept it he then has his proof of her accepting responsibility?? Would have to be really careful with the wording of the letter.
I think that this is a very good idea though as i feel that OP should pay something towards it for being greedy and also 'Mr 24.5 yr old' should take responsibility for the rubbish computer system he had in place which allowed it to happen in the first place...**Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened!**

After reading this thread for the first time, it does seem that some people have been quite harsh. Whilst it was clearly not a good idea to order so many, I think that the OP has learnt her lesson - and will be very unlikely to ever do it again.
I think the real question has to be how a company can have such a bad system / procedure in place to allow 50 orders to be made - and sent out - without taking payments or checking them first! To me, this does suggest that the company involved must, at the very least, be extremely incompetent.
I would suggest to the managing director (if he is looking at this thread) - in future check the orders and take the money - before you send out the products.
I don't think I will use this company in the future. If they can't get this right, I worry about what else they may not get right............0 -
Mr 24.5 sounds a right tool!!!
(i hope he reads that).
By pointing it out, and trying to be a smart-a**e - he's just made himself look like a complete and utter infantile and immature !!!!!
How can anyone take him seriously when he resorts to such childlike behaviour!
Simply ignore it. They know as well as anyone else that any legal action against you is decidely dodgy - in that their terms are poorly drafted. And indeed they accepted the contract for free flowers by posting them to the recipients. They were perfectly entitled to cancel all the orders (prior to the contract) but chose not to. They can't re-negotiate the contract after they've accepted it.
I would think the "kid" would want to minimise provoking any reactions on this forum - since there are several threads about valueflora.com and their extremely poor quality flowers!0
