Was thinking the same, someone has started up a business offering good prices and being young its hard to secure finance. This isnt a big company where they make millions, its a new business so probably not even breaking even. Your lack of judgement in what is ok may cause the business to stop trading and if hes a soletrader that means he could go bankrupt meaning he cant get on the property ladder.0 -
Agree, I cannot see how anyone can justify this. It is mindless.
Don't like to slate people but the blinkered view of many people that this was ok and that the website/business is to blame has amazed me.
I'm really not sure MSE was setup for people to rape and pillage. Money saving yes, working the system as best as possible yes, but 50 bunches of free flowers and chocolates - not sure this is the forums greatest moment!!Matched Lay Betting Profit £992
Casino Bonus Bagging Profit £30020 -
The company has been incredibly stupid to let this go on for so long. Even in the middle of this thread there were people still getting away with the loophole - it's ridiculous behaviour on both sides. I do feel sorry for the company but to keep sending out flowers and chocolates when it can see that nothing has been paid for them would be plain stupid. There must have been a serious glitch in the internet site and despatch arrangements that ALLOWED this to occur. My point was that anybody who has ever done an ebay auction knows to check that payment has been made before sending the item. If ebay told you that it had been paid for, and then it came to light that it had not, you would be entitled to look at the infrastructure that let it occur and ask them questions. This would be in addition to trying to claim payment off the person who got the item for free. If I was the owner of the company I'd be looking at all angles and not just one. Imagine if you ran a store and it came to light that lots of stock had been stolen because the metal detector system was faulty. You'd expect some form of settlement from the company who maintained that system regardless of the fact that the real thieves are the people who stole the stuff in the first place.0

I haven't reported this as bad post, but please don't call other members here greedy cows, otherwise we descend into the level of the playground. Should we say this for anyone who ever gets themselves overweight or into financial trouble> "You're fat 'cos you're a greedy cow", "You've got a massive credit card bill 'cos you're a greedy cow" it's unpleasant, and I personally find it offensive. I am not condoning what this member did, nor am I suggesting the company got what it deserves, however I do not think it is anyone's place on here to verbally humiliate others. This forum is supposed to be here for us to help each other FOR WHATEVER REASON WE HAVE GOT OURSELVES INTO A MESS. That's what I like about it.0 -

Sorry Sluggy1967 think you are wrong here. It WAS greedy to exploit that firm. This site does not exist to drive fledgling companies out of business. The post you are referring to has had quite a few thanks so I would suggest that there are more than a few posters who agree with the sentiments expressed.0 -
The last time I checked there was a red stamp on the side of this page labelled consumer revenge.
Revenge is a strong word but it's there for a reason.
Companies are "pillaging" (a word used by a member on this thread) us on a day to day basis. This is a site identifying benefits for the consumer that can often be loopholes that do not benefit the organisation concerned.
If ordering 50 flowers free is wrong, then why is it fair to abuse a £100 RBS Account loophole, only to close your account down afterwards. This has been advertised in a weekly email and thousands have taken advantage.
Why is it fair for a new company trying really hard to market their business, offer free t-shirts to people who are genuinely interested in shopping with them, get their offer posted on this site to be spammed to death with requests by people who don't give a damn about the biz but want a t-shirt.
Bottom line for stuff like this:
All's fair in love and war.
The owner will learn from the business mistake and those reading here who go on to be internet wizzes themselves will also take this knowledge forward.0 -
We are all here for the same reason-to save money. Yes the op was probably a bit silly doing this but she is not the only one I'm sure. She is asking for advice and maybe that's what we should be offering her instead of insults. Abusing her and ranting serves no purpose other than get other peoples backs up. Come on people, she hasn't exactly committed the crime of the century-only exploited a loophole. If you always do what you've always done...
you'll always get what you've always gotten0 -
so what has happened since? Have you heard anything more? There will always be:
A “LIE” in BELIEVE, an “OVER” in LOVER, an “END” in FRIEND, an “US” in TRUST , and an “IF” in LIFE0 -

The irony of what you have written followed by your signature "Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself." has not gone unnoticed.0
