We are all here for the same reason-to save money. Yes the op was probably a bit silly doing this but she is not the only one I'm sure. She is asking for advice and maybe that's what we should be offering her instead of insults. Abusing her and ranting serves no purpose other than get other peoples backs up. Come on people, she hasn't exactly committed the crime of the century-only exploited a loophole.

Here Here. I am so fed up of coming onto this site and being afraid to post a query etc for fear of being abused. i know that the vast majority of ms arnt like that but the few that are ruin it for others.
  • Not sure which flower company this is all about, but if it is ValueFlora then someone from there reads this site and has previously posted when they first set up. There were a few glitches which Valueflora put right very quickly. I have ordered their flowers of the month a couple of times. The recipients were delighted.

I haven't reported this as bad post, but please don't call other members here greedy cows, otherwise we descend into the level of the playground. Should we say this for anyone who ever gets themselves overweight or into financial trouble> "You're fat 'cos you're a greedy cow", "You've got a massive credit card bill 'cos you're a greedy cow" it's unpleasant, and I personally find it offensive. I am not condoning what this member did, nor am I suggesting the company got what it deserves, however I do not think it is anyone's place on here to verbally humiliate others. This forum is supposed to be here for us to help each other FOR WHATEVER REASON WE HAVE GOT OURSELVES INTO A MESS. That's what I like about it.

BELOW IS THE OP POST NO 61

Dear All, (except those who have slated me, (oh to you lot now S***w you!) Right to all of you who have emailed me privately and posted messages on the site, a HUGE thanks for your support, It does appear that we have been rumbled, Oops, the code no longer works, lets hope it teaches valueflora a lesson for the future. I am off on holiday for a few weeks but will keep you informed when I return.... Thank you Thank you Thank you x x x PS I think the people who had a go are just a teenie bit fed up cos they never got free flowers too !

Personally I find screw you offensive, I'm sure she is a better person for teaching them a lesson

I think valueflora is overpriced at full price but if there's a discount code, they're not bad. Certainly better than flyingflowers - I spent £25 on flowers from them and when they arrived they looked like last week's garage forcourt sale offerings
    There will always be:
A “LIE” in BELIEVE, an “OVER” in LOVER, an “END” in FRIEND, an “US” in TRUST , and an “IF” in LIFE ;)

With quidco, another 20% off is possible which makes it quite good value.
  • Delivered flowers are very overpriced - the profit margins are immense - that's why to ask the person for £1300 for the 50 odd "free bunches" is the RRP of the items and not the actual cost to the company. As I said earlier - I would pitch it at £500 or even less including the chocs (50g boxes!) and delivery.

Even valueflora are offering 12 x £25 bunches of flowers for £99 - and that WILL include a profit margin. It does not excuse the free bunch furore - but to be realistic the REAL losses will be much less than the "top line" figures, not that it makes them go away entirely.

I can get HUGE bunches of flowers for £2.99 full price at the local shops....and have had immense bargains at Waitrose selling off bunches for 99p which have been over £10 originally. And they last ages !
  • what about "loss of profit" though ?

surely bunches were bought that then couldn't be sold to others ? So unless stock is unlimited its a factor ?
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!
  • Of course the company have sustained a loss - but start ups are able to offset yearly losses against future profits so if they have a wised up accountant that is probably one avenue to take. I'm quite sure they'd have desired not to let it happen though.
  • Have seen today there is another thread about ValueFlora saying what a massive rip off the £99 offer is - one poster says the flowers are not even worth £5 a bunch let alone the "RRP" of £25 - check it out yourselves. They are even being threatened with trading standards by some MSEs.
