Ooooh, I might check out that site.. I love graphs lol.
I'm going to be doing the Atkins type diet, starting today, was meant to go gym today but I am waiting for a memory foam mattress to arrive so I've rescheduled until tomorrow. Going swimming tonight though, adults only session - yay.
I really do have to work hard this time, my tummy is so wobbly, it's awful and stops me playing sports and enjoying things with my boyfriend as I'm so body conscious. Even a hug, I worry that he can feel my wobbly bits or I've sweated or something horrid.. Altho, he plays with my tummy anyhow, so he can't be that disgusted lol.
Sausage and egg for brekky, yum.
I'm most excited about the jelly and cream though9/70lbs to lose0 -
GEEGEE8,
I'm a bloke and realised about a month or so ago, that although I haven't got fat legs, arms butt etc my stomach was too big. I needed to lose some weight. I used to have a Springer Spaniel who required regular exercise, play football, have a job where I got exercise etc. Dog passed away, stopped football after breaking my arm, and my job now entails either driving to surveys or sitting in front of the computer designing systems. Not good for my weight.
I went to the doctors as I have been having a crappy few months health wise. He got me onto a programme run by the NHS called Fit Fans. Don't know if it's available everywhere. Anyway, it's a 12 week programme and every week the instructor spens 20-30 minutes discussing foods with you, carbs/fats/protein etc, then an hour of gentle exercise which will increase. . It isn't a diet as such but my whole food intake has altered. Whereas before I would have a small breakfast, lunch and a main meal at tea-time now I have a bigger breakfast, smaller lunch as it's a top-up and a smaller evening meal. I also snack between as per his instructions. Nuts/couscous/ etc.
He told me my calorie intake for my size to stay the same is 2000 daily. He wanted me to reduce that to 1600 daily so I would lose 2lb per week, so lose 24lb over the 12 weeks. I still have potatoes, bread, just reduced the amount slightly. The exercising side of the class is increasing slowly, but if you could see some of the others I can see why he is taking things slowly...:rotfl:
I have been three times now and I have already lost 12lb without really trying. I don't feel like I am dieting and as it's a slow weight reduction I hope I can keep it up.
I myself couldn't do WW, but good luck whatever you do.0 -
Hey BillTrac,
Thanks for the postIt sounds as though you are on a good programme there, our doctors have some sort of programme, but it involves a 1 mile walk - not much good for me as I walk everywhere already, so I gave it a miss..
I am trying to have a bigger breakfast and hope that it curbs my appetite for the day. Usually I have cereal and milk, too much of it aswell and it bloats me out, makes me lethargic and then I don't want to do anything for the day.
Having a dog is a major boost to exercise, I don't have dogs anymore, and where I live it's not possible.9/70lbs to lose0 -
Hi - I lost 2 stone with WW a fwe years ago but I've nearly put it all back on. I am so depressed about it and I hate myself at the moment. I just cant motivate myself. I woke up this morning feeling nasty about my body and I thought 'why am I doing this to myself, I'm not stupid, I know how to lose weight so why don't I?'
Thats my mantra for today. I am not stupid. I am basically self-harming everytime I over eat because I know it'll just put me in a bigger hole. I am not stupid and I know what I need to do -so why dont I do it?House saving Targets:

I'm the same, I know what I need to do and not doing it makes me so unhappy and depressed..
Well today I started on the Atkins type diet, just going to try and stick at it and prove myself wrong!9/70lbs to lose0 -
hello
i too feel the same way...im the heaviest ive ever been and at 19 i weighed 7 1/2 stone...i dont wanna be that slim again but slimmer would be nice
well come august i will be on a fairly strict exercise and diet regime, i say after august i get married in august and my dress is being made so dont wanna lose anyweight as it will need altering lol (see even the motivation of getting int oa wedding dress didnt do it lol) but teh reason i want to start a strict thing is because i have set myself a huge challenge....trekking along parts of the great wall of china...raising as much money for charity along the way
seems a bit extremem going all the way to china to help motivate myself lol but it was only after i decided to do ita nd try to raise money that i realised i will need to be slimmer and fitter to enjoy it. so august is my deadline after that i will be joining SW and maybe joining a gym, i am lucky tho as my cousin is doing it with me..shes also very unfit lol so we will motivate each other0 -
GEEGEE, PLEASE try the shred....it's really good for helping the jelly belly! You're meant to do each level over 10 days, but I do them over 14 as it's easier to do two weeks of each, and yup it's pretty physical, but you also get used to it and your muscles tone really quickly. I'm doing that and c25k, and the muscles on my legs are more developed and my tummy is starting to shrink, I can feel the muscles underneath it and it's got rid of the mini roll I had under my boobs! It's REALLY effective, and like Ronseal, does exactly what it says on the tin. I like having a mix of exercise, so I'll usually jog and shred everyday (not jogged for a couple of days but I will tomorrow) and the taekwando will push me more too, especially in toning muscles and bulding stamina and strength.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Hi GEEGEE
I've so far lost about 5 stone (from 16 stone to 11 stone) through a combination of stuff. I started off with Pete Cohen (google him) although its expensive its FAB. I lost 4 stone with him, then I felt I needed a bit of a kick as I'd got to the point where I was really happy with how I'd done and losing the willpower to lose the last 2 stone. Joined WW a couple of months ago and have lost another stone with 1 to go.
I find the Pete Cohen stuff really motivational, without that internal motivation WW wouldn't work for me.
Oh, and it helps that I have up a job in a bakery to work on a farm. Bonus points all the way!!!!
Good luckj0 -
Jacqu79 - What is a normal days eating for you then? I've ordered the book for a couple of quid from Amazon, but I'd love to get started straight away really.. strike while the iron is hot and all that
Hiya, sorry I didn't see this post last night. At the the moment a typical day for me would be:
Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs mashed in a cup with butter
Lunch - a ham and turkey salad bowl from subway (love these!!)
Dinner - Chicken curry made with double cream and a tiny bit of curry paste, served with riced cauliflower (which tastes amazingly like normal rice when served with a curry!)
I don't really snack anymore, but if I feel the need I have a bowl of whipped double cream and some sugar free jelly or some babybells.
Honestly, I can't believe the stuff I can eat and still lose weight. It's amazing and I can honestly say I'll never go back to eating the way I did before.
Good Luck!:beer:0 -
Thanks Jacqu79, think I've a put weight on reading that lot...:rotfl:0
