True to form White horse, true to form:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I'm confused.
Presumably there is a waiting list for good housing like this. How was this family allowed to move, in preference to others in greater need?
There is a lot in this story which stinks, frankly. Things have to change.
For those who believe it to be valid in some kind of utopian just society, feel free to have a weekly whip round for the 'deserving cases'.0 -
No, there are no waiting lists for LHA. If you find a property within the LHA limits, you can move in ( subject to your own tenancy agreements) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Ordinarily you'd assume that a family on housing benefits would have about as much chance of renting a posh pad in Central London as I would of getting into the Sultan of Brunei's harem.
Apparently however it seems there arent private renters ahead of them able to take up the slack.
It does apper then that when the £400 a week thing (which still seems insane to me but never mind) kicks in, this may actually have an effect on central london rents.0 -

Indeed there arnt, and this is why these LUxe landlords have "lowered" themselves to accepting normal people instead of the likes of Madonna and the other neighbours, they just dont want to spend that money.
the rules will be changing in the next few months, Im sure we will all be able to take a view on it then.
It will have an effect on london rents, for sure. The cheaper rat holes will get more expensive , that much is certain.( IFAIAC) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I agree wholeheartedly with this statement, with great regret.
As long as you come from the third world, have a massive family and claim some kind of persecution (details need not be supplied) then you get everything thrown at you. If you are British and law abiding, you get cuts in everything: salary, pensions, benefits. Political correctness gone mad.0 -

Somalia is an absolute f*cking hell-hole.
Mogadishu is probably THE most dangerous city in the world.
But surely there is somewhere safe between there and here?"The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

The problem is the thuggish image that the BNP has, which has persisted for a long time, unfortunately. It doesn't change the fact that 20-25% of the electorate, as well as large swathes of the established political parties, are largely favourable to many BNP policies.0
