Somalia is an absolute f*cking hell-hole.

Mogadishu is probably THE most dangerous city in the world.

But surely there is somewhere safe between there and here?

Somalia is the modern equivalent of 17th century Tortuga. A great and lucrative career in piracy can be had here if you are so inclined.

I couldn't care less - what I want to know is why all these refugees want to come to the UK, or anywhere in Europe for that matter. And why should we welcome these useless scroungers? If they want to be safe all they need to do is cross the border into Kenya.

    They are not asylum seekers.

They have been given right to remain in the UK which means they could be British Citizens with British Passports.

Otherwise they would not be legal for the council to house them in such a property.

Then the question arises: why were these people given British citizenship? What have they done to deserve it?

The problem is the thuggish image that the BNP has, which has persisted for a long time, unfortunately. It doesn't change the fact that 20-25% of the electorate, as well as large swathes of the established political parties, are largely favourable to many BNP policies.

As evidenced by the 25% of BNP MPs. Oh. Wait...

Contributed to the country for 10 years without taking anything from it? What magical thing have you done to deserve it pray tell? Did you work really, really hard in the womb prior to being born here?

They could probably stay in Africa, but a little thing called the slave trade destroyed most of it by removing nearly all the adult males for years on end for the benefit of other countries.

Indeed there arnt, and this is why these LUxe landlords have "lowered" themselves to accepting normal people instead of the likes of Madonna and the other neighbours, they just dont want to spend that money.

the rules will be changing in the next few months, Im sure we will all be able to take a view on it then.

It will have an effect on london rents, for sure. The cheaper rat holes will get more expensive , that much is certain.( IFAIAC)

And the top end properties will come down. This landlord (in the OP) was asking (not getting mind), a grand a week for his mansion. If his friends on benefits can no longer 'afford' to pay that (let alone double that, as he is currently paying), then he'll have to charge a rent working people can afford. And let's face it, not many working families can afford even that 'measly' grand a month ie 52 grand a year, out of taxed income.

Whilst the mega-rich can, the 'sad' truth is, that there are only so many of them to go round...

Not really backing up your argument there Lynz. There are literally billions of people living in danger every day.

The fact remains that unless Somali Air was running sheduled flights from there he has broken International Law by NOT claiming asylum in the first safe country he enters.

Like others have said why have 7 Kids?? He is NEVER going to be able to bring them up financially.

On top of his wages that he was earning as a bus conductor he would most likely be also receiving WTC,CTC housing benefit, child benefit etc etc....He would have been receiving £1,000s in benefits, my question is how much tax did he pay?

Benefits would far outway the tax he'd paid from his job so the truth is he's contributing Nothing, zero, zilch .......

Its the system thats at fault, no difference than someone who is British and working 25 hrs a week, earning £5-95 hr ,having 4 kids and getting WTC,CTC, Housing benefit, child benefit etc etc.....

The only difference is he's Somali and broken the law getting here.....IMO he/they should be sent back home, Charity begins at home and don't forget we give £millioms each year in overseas Aid.......I hope the present Government grows some gonads and deals with the problem properly and doesn't fudge it...

As long as you come from the third world, have a massive family and claim some kind of persecution (details need not be supplied) .

details really do need to be supplied.

there was very little slavery at all from east Africa. I think you're thinking of west Africa?
