  • Hi guys, I think I'm gonna step out and let someone else take my place. It won't really work for me just now as i'm about to start my DMP and will therefore be paying a set amount every month to them. I also owe more than 18K (25K)

However, I will keep a close watch on how you're all doing and get loads of inspiration along the way.

    Good luck to you all!!!

Who'd like to take my place?

    Little L

Little L, can't you still be involved, but save up any extra money you can save/earn to pay off in a lump sum at the end of the year? I think I read you were allowed to do that with DMPs? That way, you'd just count how much you'd saved up rather than what you'd paid off.

  • Yes that's my plan anyway. If it's ok with everyone else then yes i'd love to stay. I could update every month on how much i've saved etc...

This week so far i've cancelled a girlie night out (saved £40)
Ebayed 15 items and have 3 bids already - yippee!!
Cashed in all my coppers (£5) bought dinner with it for 2 nights :T
Have £100 left in my account that I 'd normally have spent on junk..

I've also decided to sell my cards myself (I had an agent but she is giving it up) I run a small business as well as nurse for an agency. So my goal is to try and bring an income of about £450 - 500 per week. This is gonna take alot of discipline (I also have low days (CFS) so i need to keep myself healthy in order to achieve this goal) I think i'll start to feel better when I get RID of this debt hanging over me.

Say I manage to save quite a bit of money in a year then i'm sure i've read that some creditors accept a reduced final payment. That's my plan and I'll get there with the help of all you lovely people.

Thanks Mirtos I'll stay if that's ok?

    xx
