No, for books I list at 1p, I get about £1.27, but I've books listed priced up to £80 because they're rare. I sell FAR FAR MORE than I would on green metropolis - I sell about 10- 20 items a week on avaerage, although near the end of the month/after pay day, that can double!Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Hang on, not sure I'm following...You "list" it for 1p - is that the Amazon fee or what you sell the books for!?!?
Also, where do you get these expensive rare books? Do you have them already or do you buy them because you know they are rare and sell them on on Amazon?LBM: Nov 2004 Debt Apr06: £19,273.46 (Highest)

Ok. A bit of explanation, Amazon has a set postage fee for each type of of item you can sell - based on weight, and if you send 2nd class, quite generous. So you list an item for the price you want to sell it at, then when it sells, you get that amount plus the flat postage fee, minus any fees charged by amazon. You can get a pro-merchant subscription for £28 a month, that means you pay less in fees, and saves you money if you sell more than I think 15 items a month (details are quite clear on amazon, so look it up before buying!)
Basically, what all this means is that whatever you list the price as, you get a little bit more - supposedly to cover postage costs. As lots of cheap paperbacks are being sold for 1p on amazon, if you want to sell any time soon, you need to match this - but you DONT have to, if you are prepared to wait for a sale. The postage cost means that you can make about 70p on these, after paying for the very cheapest postage costs.
I started off selling my old books/CDs/Videos, that I couldn't justify keeping when I needed money so badly, but now I have a stock of about 400, that people have given me, or that I've sorted out from my old stuff at my parents house. Luckily, some of them have just accidentally turned out to be worth a bit!
Hope that helps! Any clearer?Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

Hmmm, I listed about 20 books on amazon a couple of months ago, having followed the amazon thread in ebay forum a few months ago, made sure they were the sort of books that people bought and made sure that mine were the cheapest on offer and not one sold.
I was v disappointed.Proud DFW Nerd #62

Sometimes it's like that - I have 400+ listed, and of late, I can go a couple of days without a sale. I've noticed a real downturn in sales since the weather improved a few months ago too - I put it down to everyone saving for summer hols. When I started in May, I used to make £300 a month hands down, now - and for past month /6 weeks it's more like £200. Maybe try again in the winter Glitterari?Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

Can someone tell me what the searches are on Quidco, I know about Kelkoo but can't find the other ones
Apart from the searches are there any other ways to earn cash back without having to buy something? (cheeky I know but given the circumstances am really interested in paying out as little as possible)VIRGIN CC [STRIKE] £648.87[/STRIKE]PAID OFF 08-09-09 :j
