Walkers rant - bags less than half full! Also, the new flavours...

This is on the basis that my main grievance is with the size of the bag being disproportionate with the expected contents. If the bag was made smaller, the amount would seem more in keeping. I would have accepted paying a bit more for the crisps if the amount was raised, but no way would I accepted paying 3 times more!
What would your ideal response to the question be? It's an interesting one.
Then you are saying that the number of crisps in a normal bag of walkers is acceptable in terms of eating.
I would keep them the same as it doesn't bother me, I know they are only 1/4-1/3rd full and I accept this when I buy them. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

"In terms of eating" can mean a few different things, though. In terms of satisfying one's hunger? In terms of being used as a substitute for a meal? Can you be a bit clearer? To make my position clearer, though, I don't think that, given the current size of the Walkers bags, the amount of crisps in the bag is in positive proportion, and this business practice may dupe or con people who expect the contents to be in keeping with the size.0 -
however is the space not a packaging method to provide a crush proof air cushion?
personally i dont see the issue
you pay for the contents
Meh, I've heard the 'packaging method' thing before and don't fully buy it. I think they could fill the bag more than below half-way / half and still not be in drastic danger of the contents being immediately crushed or whatever. In my youth bags were almost full to the top and I never came across a packet that was crushed. I think someone in this thread brought up the issue that the contents may be crushed in the factory if its about 75% full. My response to this is that as it stands, the crisps have about a 50% chance of being crushed anyway. I don't mind a few crunched crisps at the bottom as a result of a factory mistake if the general amount I'm getting is higher.0 -

Buy the bigger bag then, you clearly know the smaller one doesn't have enough crisps in it.0 -

Do deals like that apply in every Asda shop across the country, though? I thought the different shops had different prices? 50p for 225g sounds good.0 -

its funny.i was thinking the opposite just the other day
I was looking at all the chocolate and the like, where you get for example
a mars bar,a king size mars bar,a mars bar duo
crisps, sweets etc in grab bags, share bags etc
in reality most people are buying these for themselves and in real terms all this junks pretty cheap
fill your shopping basket with fresh foods vs junk and you will see it in your wallet at the end of the shop0
