Maybe the phone call ended with the Eastenders Duff Duffs and we're going to have to wait a couple of days to find out what's happening next.

Still doesn't explain why the OP's wife has told the OP about this phone call. In the circumstances you describe the OP's wife would probably not want to tell the OP about it.

ok lets expand on my original, it could be he borrowed her ipod and lost it so he bought her a new one to replace and synced it with itunes so she didn't know what had happened. So when she recieved the phone call he showed amazement and has made this post to back his pretence of not knowing.
