    Still packing the house up....

    Bored and fed up.....

But a new kitchen :T:T:T in a week

Decided to make Ds a nice scarf but all my wool except rabbit knitting stuff is in those vac bags in the garage round the corner!!! Held onto a big ball of denim blue aran, so if I can dig out a ball of grey dk which is lingering somewhere I can do it. ds's curtains are pinned up ready to sow but I will have to buy her a curtain rail on Saturday apparently cos we forgot the one in the dining room. So good excuse to got to the wool stall on the market as he has that kind of thing too.....must resist his wool... a fiver bet I will come home with a ball of wool :rotfl:

And my grandmother used to make randomly stripy jumpers (proper shaped ones) for her great grandchildren out of all her odds and ends of balls of wool. I used to love them. DGS (her DGGGS) is still wearing a couple of them now!

How wonderful that her jumpers are still going strong all these years later! How proud would she be that her DGGGS is wearing them :T

I think that is lovely :)
  • oh hellllllpppppp im trying to crochet/i knit only on massive needles a waterfall cardigan but cant find a pattern for love nor money, soo im trying to make one am i right in thinking that if i make the frount into over large retangles it will fall into the waterfall bit??

i do wish my mum / nan was still around to help *fed up face*
  • I'm sorry, witchwoo, I've no idea - don't think waterfall cardigans were invented when my swedish booklet was written - but thought if I replied anyway it might push the thread back onto the first page and someone who does know might see it.

Since watching the Edwardian Farm, I am wondering what they do with sheep's heads nowadays...
  • Not sure I want to know! I ate all sorts of offal as a child but, after tripe, my least favourite was pressed meat made from eg sheep's head - sort of soft and jellyish and usually eaten cold I think. Broth was ok. Didn't see EF. Isn't brain/nervous tissue off limits these days because of BSE/CJS? Or has that ban been lifted now?

Well they would be being a bit "inconsistent" if that ban is still on - considering that 70% of the meat/milk (and obviously cheese too by extension) on sale in British supermarkets comes from animals that have eaten g*netically m*dified feedstuff still at the moment:eek::mad:

    - so maybes that ban isnt there any more?????

(hmmm...on the other hand...maybe the "powers-that-be" still want to be "seen" to be doing something - in order to justify doing precisely nothing really.....).
