Personally, if you really want it to stop, I would write to them not visit a branch. Do you have copies of rental agreements or documents that prove ownership or residence? Although you might feel funny about showing something like this, if I was so bothered by it that it was causing me stress, I would send them photocopies of these, outline when they moved out of the address, and perhaps ask them if they could check the credit reference agencies to see if they can track down the new address. Send it by registered delivery and head it as Complaint so they have an onus to reply.
Then, I would get your ex-housemate to write to them NOT go into the branch requesting that they change his address details, including details of your address and his new address; make sure he includes his account details and signature. Get him to send this by registered delivery too.
If you still got mail after this, I would be very, very, shocked. I think you are wasting your time and energy going into branch if it has had no affect so far, writing is the way to go in my opinion.0 -
he has changed his address and considering it is illegal to throw mail away i cannot do that. in fact he has changed his address several times but they don't pay any attention to him either, he as at his branch once a month to complain that his mail is still coming here. and why can i not claim compensation? i have had to go out of my way in terms of petrol and time to deal with this, i suffer from major depression, i have also had 3 strokes so i do not need the stress in my life
Oh get a sodding grip. All you have to do is write: "Not known at this address" and pop them back in the post until they get the hint. Stop banging on about compensation. You haven't actually suffered any hardship for this so stop acting like a pathetic money-grabbing imbecile and grow up.0 -
Very funny thread ! Well done everyone made my morning !0

Do the following
1. Write on the front of envelope "Not known at this address, Return to Sender"
2.Take envelope to your nearest postbox and place it into said postbox.
3 Make yourself a cup of tea.
4.Take a chill pill.
5.Enjoy life.
When the next envelope from Nat West comes through your letter box start process again from step 1.
Repeat until Nat West get the message (which they eventually will).0 -

Some people just love to try and claim the compo.
If this is what deserves compo i would like to see a really serious case!!!For everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
When I changed my address I went into my natwest branch and said I needed to change my address and they took me into an office and updated it all on their computer systems and that was that. I can't believe they are that different in other branches?
If they haven't updated their systems, then the account holder needs to write in to complain.
OP - Have you had any help with your medical condition? Someone else's post really shouldn't be something that stresses you out. Even if you do decide to redirect it or put it in the post, you don't need to go out specially to do it, it can wait a few days until you go near a post box, or you can give it to someone who can.Indecision is the key to flexibility
