aaaahhhhh natwest

I agree with Lokolo and Basfordlad. To claim the amount of stress and depression over what amounts to receiving and opening (which is illegal by the way - throwing it away is not) someone else's post is just absurd.
If this really is a problem, your ex-housemate must go into a post office and pay for their post to be automatically re-directed to their new address. This will cost money - so they put a complaint and a claim for this in writing to natwest (they are more likely to get a move on if it starts costing them money)
As mentioned by everyone, there is nothing that you can do yourself, so stop trying.
And no, you can not claim compensation.Debts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my Debts

I had a similar issue, where the person who lived in my house before me kept getting letters from Natwest addressed to them.
I kept writing on the front that the person no longer lives at my address, and putting them back in the post box ... but Natwest ignored it, and kept sending them.
Went into the branch ... they said they'd stop it, but still the letters kept coming.
Next, I went to a branch, and asked to make a complaint. This time, at last, they stopped.
Although only the account holder can change the address, they should be able to stop sending post to the address on the word of a third party.
Best of luck! Natwest are a painful bank to have to deal with, but I'm sure you'll sort it in the end. Just keep persevering.0 -
do not not tell me its not depressing, i am the one who is sat here in tears over all of this not you you do not know how this is affecting me
Really???
Sounds really drastic that something so trivial could bother you so much.
Why not just ignore it as you are only hurting yourself getting worked up about it.
How much of an effort would it be to throw it away?
Life is far too short to get upset over it!
Edited to add. When we used to get calls from people who were getting letters for people who had moved away we just used to change the marketing preferences to no mailing. I am sure Nat West could do this!(c) Broke in Yorkshire. ( there are worse places )
Those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter!0 -
Well atleast I can admire Natwest for their persistence. A bit of post for my Barclays account went missing (lived at the same address for a long time) so they stopped all mail and debit cards till I went and spoke to them :rotfl:0

If you allow something like this to cause you stress and exacerbate your medical conditions then you need serious medical help. You need to learn to identify what is important in life. This isn't important and you shouldn't let it become so in your mind.0

That wouldn't help - statements etc don't count as marketing.0 -
The bank wont change an address just because a third party says the the account holder has moved address.
The bank may stop the marketing as a gesture of goodwill and thats about it really im sorry to say.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

No - but they will put a block on the address if a third party requests it to prevent any further post being sent out.
That's what they did with me, and I haven't received anything since.0 -

Yeah sometimes they also put a stop on the account to force the account holder to contact them.
To be fair they could just check experian to find out where the account holder has moved too
