aaaahhhhh natwest

to start with i should point out that i am not a customer of natwest bank. my old housemate was (he moved out on the 3/10/09) and i am still getting his mail at my address, how can i stop this? i have been into the bank and complained, he has been into the bank and complained they don't or won't pay any attention to either of us, i have sent his mail back to them only to have it turn up in a new envelope a week or so later (i assume its the same mail), i have made it clear to them i suffer from depression and its completly getting me down.
today i have spoken to then via phone and the financail obudsman (who cannot do anything because its not my mail)
i actually class this as harrassment now.
i don't like leaving the house so to have to return it in the mail (involves going to a post box!!) -like i have done several times, or go to the bank is very hard for me.
does anyone know how i can get this sorted? and can i claim any compensation for what is basically harassment?

    It's not harassment.

If it's not addressed to you but you are getting mail why are you bothered? Just throw it away. You don't need to go the bank.

And no of course you can't claim compo.

Why get stressed about that? Just get him to change his address and then problem sorted.

he has changed his address and considering it is illegal to throw mail away i cannot do that. in fact he has changed his address several times but they don't pay any attention to him either, he as at his branch once a month to complain that his mail is still coming here. and why can i not claim compensation? i have had to go out of my way in terms of petrol and time to deal with this, i suffer from major depression, i have also had 3 strokes so i do not need the stress in my life

It's not as simple as it sounds with Natwest.
I moved house 9 years ago and they still send all post to my old address.
I've lost count of the number of times I've tried to change this by phone, writing and in the branch but it never sticks.
......just standard banking incompetance althoguh i was impressed when they replied to my complaint about all this by sending a letter to....you've guessed it...my old address!

This has nothing to do with you having had strokes, or depressing. So stop mentioning it.

You do not have to go to the bank. You are choosing to go to the bank. You don't need to sort it.

Yes but we are in a compo society. Also throwing the mail away will not help.
