I love chorizo just as it is, with manchego cheese and spanish ham, but it's also really nice like this; from Nigella Lawson's Domestic Goddess - she serves it with a poached chicken breast, but it's up to you.
Warm 150g chopped chorizo in a tsp of oil in a pan and add 1/2 tin of cannelini beans and a dash of stock. Serve with wilted spinach or other greens a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkling of smoked paprika.2015 comp wins - £370.25

OP
How much were the chorizos in LIdls? Its not something Ive been buying with being on an economy drive but Im sure they are good value, as they are SO scrumm
Another thing Ive been known to do with them ( and this is a great midnight feast!)
Toast 2 slices bread on one side only ( bagel setting)
Thinly slice red onions & chorizo v quickly dry fry them in a frying pan on med heat, slice into the pan some cheese Menchego would be great, but I use bog standard cheddar
till the stuff has gone all melty and runny and you can smell the smokiness
on the soft untoasted side of bread, do a light scraping of chilli paste
put filling in bread
SCOFF:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I saute onions, mushrooms garlic and peppers. Chop up some Chorizo and stir through to heat, with some pesto. Stir it through pasta with some black olives and sprinkle on some fresh parmesan.
By the way Lynz from memory they are about £1.80 ish for a nice big one.0 -
I like it sliced thinly in sandwiches like a salami!

When you buy it from Aldi/Lidl does it have a long shelf life/best before date??? I guess once you cut into it you need to use it fairly quickly.
My suggestion is to have it in a quiche instead of bacon, or chucked into a pasta sauce:DLaughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
Went to Tesco yesterday and bought a huuuuge lump of chorizo sausage for 35p :j I normally just thinly slice it and eat it, but there is just too much and I need some ideas.
What can I do with this much chorizo

Hi alanalea,
There's an older thread with some ideas that might help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.
If there is too much to use up, don't forget that it freezes well.

Thank you Pink-winged. I did do a search for chorizo, but every time I search something it comes up with 'No posts matching your criteria'

Or if you want something simple, slice or dice it, fry it and then stir into mashed potato."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
