Getting somewhere with them now. I spoke to a really nice lady who said that non of this seems to be my fault and said its a case of me waiting for the iphone that has meant I haven't upgraded yet and could see that in most circumstances customers upgrade before their contract ends like i did last time in which case the bundle would have not dropped off. I said I was happy to pay an extra £5 for the month for unlimited data usage had I been told the bundle would have dropped off on the 6th. She said I have to wait till I get billed on the 22nd and my direct debit could be removed when the bill comes through so I don't pay them just yet. She's going to call me back on the 22nd and hopefully all will be resolved. It's just a case of speaking to the right people.

I'll give an update on the 22nd.

    Some happy news people!

Orange have waved my data charges! The nice lady I spoke to called me back as promised and got someone high up to wave them due to the main point being I kept questioning it throughout the month and was told there was no charges showing at the other end. And not only have they wiped £435 off the bill they've given me free internet on my account that wont drop off until the year 2999 so I think I'll be safe there.

I think in this example it is a case of being able to speak to the right person. That's all you've got to do in these situations and make sure you know what the facts are before engaging in a conversation with them.

not sure it would be allowed to give it out on a forum. what's happened to you in this situation?

As my contract is up I've decided to switch to a 1 month rolling contract where I pay £15 a month instead of £35 and I get 500 anytime cross network mins, unlimited texts and 500mb data. Pretty good deal for a sim only! Should normally be £20 but they've knocked £5 a month off for me. Unfortunately I lose my magic numbers but I'm not fussed as I hardly call anyone.
