No, there was a huge queue for the zorbing so he didn't do it. :( He tried it on water a couple of years ago and loved it - a bit gentler than on land I should imagine. It thought it looked fun if potentially claustrophobic - but then I am used to hamsters...

Good shift, great sleep afterwards, which I'm hoping will be a good start to tonight's shift.

I've chopped a few more twigs in the garden, DS2 has gone out, DS1 has bought a bed... I foresee wars between the lads now as they share a room and a double bed is going to take up a good chunk of it. What's more he doesn't think there will be room for his brother to inherit his old one so DS2 will have to keep the broken one we can't afford to replace.

Wish I'd known beforehand - I could have said he can only import larger furniture if he pays us more towards the bills. :D As it is I've agreed to get him the duvet covers!

Welcome Lemon Tree :) I shall have to practice my piano more with you to keep an eye on me! :) I used to play a bit as a teenager and picked it up again a few years ago in a bit to encourage one of my children who was shy of going to lessons on his own! Needless to say he has long since abandoned it, and I keep having lessons.

May I ask why 'Lemon Tree'? Just being nosey ;), I have six tiny lemon trees grown from pips, (very MS, though I don't think this is recommended as a way to get fruit). They're bonny little things. I am guessing you aren't green and shiny, though...

Action plan for this afternoon: we have been asked to a BBQ later but it's been raining hard for the last few hours so I think it will be an indoor 'do'. Meanwhile as it's the weather for baking and I made a big batch of fruit bread last night, I am having a virtual baking day on my thread (love the scope for the imagination).
Today's virtual bakes: chocolate cake with fudge icing, cheese straws and, as this is virtual and therefore I can do pastry, a large Bakewell tart. Pull up chairs, all... this is not a day for going out and doing outdoor stuff. :)

lovely virtual baking, but not sure on the cheese straws, i'd never heard of them till i'd moved here and they're just seem strange in my head, them and cheese scones i mean how weird??? lol

Tis Lemon Tree as it was one of my nicknames at some stage, my name got twisted around and then just changed by my now BIL. I do like lemons though especially in lemon drizzle cake. :)

you needn't worry about me on the piano front, i've yet to find someone to give me lessons though i guess i could find my book out and start the scales again. I really must learn how to sight read though, forgotten everything i learnt as a child.

You don't need a book, or music, to practise scales. Try wirh some simple scales to begin with. C Major, no sharps or flats. F Major one flat, B flat. G Major one sharp, F sharp. D Major, F sharp and C sharp. Practise right hand and left hand seperately and when you are profficient, both hands together. :rotfl:

We'll get you up to C hash minor, yet. :rotfl:

Bakewell tarts from Bakewell are AMAZING! They don't really taste anything like what Tescos sell as Bakewell tarts

I had a piano and had every intention of learning to play, but having learnt and played violin when I was little, I just can't read the bottom line of music. My head is stuck in a treble clef :o

Theres no point in trying to run before you can walk. Proficiency in both hands seperately first, then play together an octave apart.

At least you can play the scales without reading music.

Start with middle C with the thumb of your right hand. 2nd finger on D, 3rd finger on E, Cross your thumb underneath for F, follow on for G, A, B C. There you go. 8 fingers. You can now play the scale of C with the right hand.

Apply this technique whichever key you are playing.

If you want to show off and sound really profficient, start on middle C with the thumb of the right and left hand and work in the opposite direction for the left hand using the same techique as for the right hand.

    That'll be 30 quid, thanks :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
