Ryanair Denied Boarding

  • Looks like i was wrong.

I just asked the Mrs at home to mail me the pdf bording pass.

Correct departure was 16:25 and as Ryanair state you have to be at the gate 30 mins before departure so i suppose we needed to be through security by 15:55 to be at the gate by 16:25. The fact that we could have gone through security in a matter on minutes is irrelevent.

Ryanair got my by there rules i ticked the little box to fair and square.

As for Ryanars tactics, well thats another matter seeing how she virtully drooled at the prospect of selling me the high end ticket to Stansted and the fact she announced a minimum 45min delay in front of me.

I no doubt assume customer service and compassion are not in ryanairs dictonary.

Are you going to be starring in an episode of Airline as one of the red faced big fat angry bald blokes who missed their flight and rants at the customer service desk for 20 minutes getting nowhere before stomping off? If so please do let us know the date and time of the show.

    Somthing like that yeah.

I omited to mention screwing up the A4 printed boarding pass and bouncing it of the Ryanair monkeys forehead before leaving.......

No, but low fares and an excellent record for timekeeping are - sometimes they are at odds with each other.

With regard to their tactics, the representative at the airport works for a handling agent, not Ryanair. The individual does not profit from selling you a new ticket.

Hey ho, lesson learned, and I really hope that you did not actually call the staff monkeys.
    Gone ... or have I?

    .

your own problem for flying Ryanair, but anyway

They close the little doors and then you get to the plane and then they give you the security announcements and then the plane starts rolling at about the time on the ticket and then if you are lucky you take off 5 minutes after the time or more on some airports.

Gate closes means that - the Boarding GATE closes, not security, not check in, not the grandparents car door. - the boarding gate!

i honestly don't believe i am defending Ryanair, but you are completely wrong here

    OP...you call RyanAir staff 'monkies'!

The only 'monkies' are the cheap skates that actually use RyanAir.

Or the people that need to travel to destinations that only Ryanair travel too. Also, Ryanair is not that cheap.

Does this make you an ignorant monkey?

I wouldnt say i was a cheap skate.

They fly East Midland Airport, 40mins from my house, to Dinard, 50mins from my in-laws. Easiest and quickest route, as long as you are there 30mins before the flight that is.

Its either that or a trip by ferry from Portsmouth or Eurostar in and out of Paris.

Just read about the time being wrong so removed the start of my post :P

However you can apply for a refund of government tax within 1 month of your original travel date but theres a fee of £17 for this.

Unfortunately, the majority of people fly with ryanair because of their incredibly low prices. The reason they can afford to offer these prices is because they dont incur fines for running late by allowing passengers through the gates after they should be closed (among other things).

My mum has us all at the airport before check in even opens and i'm pretty sure she manages to get on the plane even before the pilot :rotfl: this way, we know we have plenty time. I would rather sit in an airport for an extra hour reading and relaxing than leaving it to the last minute and risking a traffic accident (or man with a fancy boat) holding us up and potentially costing us thousands.

At the end of the day as mean as it sounds, you should have left with plenty of time to spare to account for delays. The only way the airline is responsible is if they have provided the transportation to the airport (which has happened - with ryanair funnily enough - and they kept check-in open until we arrived).
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

    Wait,

    Let me understand this.

A gate is set to close at 15:55. The OP arrives at the gate after 15:55, but is shocked to see it closed (who would have thought?!). The Ryanair staff are therefore monkeys?

Unfortunately, Ryanair are brutally efficient. It's their efficiency that enables them to send you and your family around the world for the price of a packet of fags.

Ultimately, you were too late, but I've flown from some of the smaller French airports before with Ryanair, and they let you through so long as the plane hasn't landed yet.

If it was 45 minutes late and they already knew that, then I think they were harsh, but ultimately, you were late!

I'd still write and complain, and never use them again!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
