Neighbours from hell !!!

Where do I start, I have to get this off my chest and hopefully you guys can give me some advice.
ok, two years ago we moved into a brand new home rented from a housing association nice town, nice area.
My next door neighbour at 120 was an old school friend, I assumed we would get along well as we were friends from school, he was a quiet person, well behaved etc but how 12 years can change someone.
Our problems:
My neighbour is quite simply a jippo, he thieves late at night from the local whickes that is behind our house, he bangs in the house late at night, constant banging up and down the stairs.
Loud music thumps through our walls.
he has a burner in his garden which he lights at 6 pm most nights so it smokes out the whole dam place.
All we hear out in the garden and within our home is him and his wife shouting, swearing and arguing with each other, we have a 7 year old son and we don't want him to hear the language that comes out of there mouths.
The guy is a nosy git, he pries into everyone's business, and then stirs things up between the neighbours, he is claiming housing benefit etc well all benefits, but works for cash on the local bovis homes site, he makes it quite clear what he is doing by bragging about it.
his 5 year old daughter climbs up on the guinnea pig hutch that is besides our fence and just stares into our garden when ever we are out there, so we get no privacy in our own garden.
They have a new born baby, well 6 months old now that just constantly cries, day and night, they just ignore it, they are generally downstairs when the baby is upstairs crying, then we here "shut the f up" "you f in C" I think you understand what words I have missed out.
his 5 year old gets shouted at all the time, with things like "iam going to f ing bury you" etc.
iam totally sick of it, I get home from work and want to relax, I cannot, if I go into the garden all I hear is swearing, a baby crying and his daughter hanging off the fence.
I want to go around his house an beat the crap out of him but that will only get me put in the nick.. lol
That is neighbour number one at 120.
We are 122.
My other neighbour at 124:
constantly arguing with each other, child up until 11 PM+ at night banging and shouting (only 5), drunkenness, thieving, benefit fraud etc much the same as the idiot at 120, but without the swearing.
Sometimes when they get home on a Friday or sat night they start arguing at 2 am and don't stop until 5 - 6 in the morning keeping my wife and I awake all night, and then sleep all day because they are too lazy to get honest jobs.
The benefit fraud at 124, the girl is living there as a single mum, and is claiming full benefits as such, her boyfriend is claiming the same benefits at a different property, but living with her.
He works for his dad for cash in hand.
Both neighbours I would consider as a potential danger to my family, they have allot of friends in the local area, and we are worried that is we shop them up we will be targeted.
We live in a row of 5 terrace houses, so it would be obvious who has shopped them in, what the hell do we do ?
We really don't want to move as the area is great, the schools are high achieving ones, we cannot afford to buy as we cannot raise the deposit required, we feel stuck with a life of living next to these people.
thanks for reading, and any advice is most welcome.

Other than reporting them for their behaviour there is little else you can do. If you fear reprisals then your only real option is to somehow find the money and move elsewhere in the area.

believe me we would love to own our own home, but like many others we simply cannot raise the funds required for a deposit, if we did start saving now perhaps in 10 years we would have a deposit lol
the bank of mum and dad is not an option as both my parents passed away 2 years ago and 8 years ago for my mum.
my wifes parents are elderly and on benefits.:j:beer: :j0 -
I'm not sure what other advice I can give. Again if you feel unable to report them or talk to them for fear of reprisal then your only option other than just putting up with it is to try and get away from the situation.

Rent privately?
Best thing I ever did was giving up my HA house.

Team Wagner
[/STRIKE] I meant Team Matt......obviously :cool:0 -
Why don't you get an exchange?
Just tell people that your neighbours are very sociable.0 -
thanks for the replies guys,
we are thinking of a mutaul exchange, the only thing is we have a conceince lol.. but it is worth a go.
private renting is an option, good idea.
me and the wife would love to buy and at 30 we need to do it before it is to late, but its the deposit, at the mo we would be lucky if we got a mortgage, we have another 2.5 years before all the crap drops from our credit files, so a mortgage at the mo would be a struggle.
house prices where we live are high, we would need to raise a massive deposit to just get on the housing ladder.:j:beer: :j0 -
Can you not ask for a exchange just say you want to be nearer relatives even if it isnt true lives too short you shouldn't have to out up with this, true be said HS should put foot down on them0

You need to complain and/or ask HA to move you."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Ride hard or stay home :iloveyou:0 -
Ask the HA for an exchange0

Just pm the details to one of our readers and someone else can shop them for you...simplesFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
