You lied outright therefore it is fraud (dictionary: wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain)!

Don't complicate the situation with further lies!

And I agree with wigginsmum - I haven't lied on my CV or on credit applications, because I understand the penalties that could come with it!

So your telling everyone your situation has never changed? You have never moved house? changed jobs?
The point is he can correct his wrong details - the fact that hes admitted to us that he gave false information has nothing to do with it.

Are we the court or the jury? No! Just people living in our own situations, making are own decisions and living our own lives. Some people just want to get 'one over' on someone else to make them feel better.

Understandably these are all JUST peoples thoughts and views AND should be taken lightly and not personally.

We ALL make mistakes, wether it be through lies, decisions, thoughts, words or actions. So we ALL should have a chance to correct our mistakes in the hope that we don't make the mistake again.

  • Hello

Thanks for all the comments & advice i don't know wheather to be heartned or terrified.

However, would just like to add that i have recd copies of my credit files from Experian & Equifax (still waiting on Call Credit). They indicate that my various credit agreements are between 2 & 14 years old. Also all my payments are up-to-date for now. Although i still can't remember which lenders i lied to?

Also bearing in mind how old most of these agreements are is there still chance that the Police could get involved.

    Thanks

While I have sympathy for Creek's situation and hope it's gets sorted, it's alarming that people are abused on here for NOT having broken the law and for objecting to being told they must have done something illegal in terms of applications.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
  • I agree with wigginsmum. I hope that up the creek manages to sort things out but am dismayed that stiffnuts believes that wilful misrepresentation is something that 'everyone in the world' does. If this were the case then the person being defrauded would be ourselves. I find it shocking that such an assumption is held. Honesty is the best policy. I think that the OP realises this and is trying to put things straight. I wish you all good luck with this U t C .

Whilst I accept that you have non of the usual frailty ,imagine that you have ,because of lives ups and downs ,been placed in a situation whereby you see an opportunity to help your situation ,how would you react ,just imagine standing in anothers shoes.

You really don't get it, do you; I resent someone making a general statement that says I must be a criminal in two specific ways, neither of which apply to me. Number one, my ethics are against criminal behaviour, and number two I work in antimoneylaundering in the financial industry which means this is a redhot topic for me. Read my last post again (note the bit where I said I had sympathy for the OP because you've managed to miss that so far), and if it still upsets you, then frankly it's your problem not mine.

methinks thou dost protest to much, just imagine that you had not been so blessed,no one certainly not me ,has insisted that you must do any-thing.Lucky you and me ,because I am fortunate ,but it does not prevent me from seeing another point of view, please get off your pedestal .Employment can taint your opinion, and patronisation does not correct the situation.
