Vasectomy good or bad?

My husband has a vasectomy booked in very soon and his brother had one with no problems & no pain now but we were put in horror by a friend saying dont do it and they lie to you as you get horrendous pain forever after and he only discovered this afterwards when it was too late but encouraged us to look at site https://www.dontfixit.org which is very negative about it to say the least but i know i could do a search & find people that think its fine & never had any problems. We have another friend who has had pain long after also but would like to get an accurate picture of the average jo .
So i dont want to know about other alternatives(ive had 3 kids and the last birth was terrible so its his turn & he agrees).
So if you have had a vasectomy over lets say 2 months ago do you still get some sort of pain or some other bad side effect from it still? Please vote in poll above if you /partner have had one. Thanks

Dh had a very slight ache on the first day that a couple of Nurofen sorted, and he was 'back in the saddle' so to speak on Day 3. No problems in the past 6 years.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

My ex had one and developed a haematoma afterwards which caused swelling and pain. However, this was dealt with quickly and easily and he had no further pain or ongoing problems of any sort. In any case, even he could accept the pain and discomfort of the haematoma was nothing in comparison to bearing a child :D
  • My dh had one 5 months ago, they had a problem finding one of the tubes, so he was in alot of pain for ages and coudn't go back to work for about 12 days. And to add insult to injury his first test hasn't come back negative. But most people i know that have had one done have had no problems what so ever.
  • My OH had one 6 years ago and had a bit of pain after -it's an operation after all and I had a lot more pain after my 3 c-sections and incisional hernia op (result of 3 c-sections:rolleyes: ) but I digress, point is he has been absolutely fine ever since and best of all no more babies :j

  • One of the best thing my OH ever did for me was to have the snip even though he was really squeamish (sp?).

Of course it'll be uncomfortable for a little while, but alot less painfull than having a baby. And just think of all that carefree sh*gging (how romantic  ) and as thriftylady says NO MORE BABIES :j

Does anyone know if there is much of a wait for this on the NHS? My husband is also only 30. Would he have trouble getting the snip?

Mr troo had one ages ago, it was a bit uncomfortable for the rest of the day and the day after.

He was told to get a lift home on the day he had it done (just in case he couldn't sit properly lol), which he did, but he drove later that day. One man went home on a pushbike  :rotfl:
