  • Oh my goodness, we're in November!

Well I have paid £50 off the loan today, now sub £700 :j Only £673.08 left and 150 days...should hopefully get the £10 from paypal tomorrow and will be asking accounts at work about my expenses so hopefully that will be paid soon too!

I spent a fortune at the weekend! All expected payments mind you, Car Tax, Petrol, Food Shopping...but just means I will watch the bank closely for a week or so as it's 3 weeks on Friday until payday. At least November is a quicker month than October!

Yippee for being sub £700, a great start to the month :)

  • Thanks Woo, it does feel good to see it sub £700 and if all goes well and payments are made when I expect them to be, I will be at roughly £530 by the end of the month :j

I've noticed that the interest is piling on thick and fast now though, really motivates me to knock as much off as possible.

Well done on going sub 700! :T

Is the interest piling on faster because of the changes?

Just wondering - my OH has a student loan and doesn't treat it as a debt, just money that he loses from his pay every month. Thinking it might be worth encouraging him to take a proper look at it.

How did you sort out the online log-in bit?

  • Not sure Becs, think it is just the interest being applied to loans again as opposed to me making payments.

They have a website www.studentloanrepayment.co.uk you can log in to it to make payments and also make a note of any monthly salaried payments (that HMRC hold on to) to keep track of what you are paying.

It will give details of how to get a log in account, I tried to phone but got nowhere so ended up emailing to get my log in details.

    Hope that helps x

  • Ok I have to admit that I [STRIKE]think[/STRIKE] KNOW I am addicted to this site and my debt :o

Have been on here all morning instead of doing my work  Can't even blame you lot because you have been remarkably quiet today. I just can't stop thinking about my amount of debt and how much/quickly I can pay...

If only I had lots more money or even a Christmas bonus to look forward to so that I could make bigger payments - we don't get xmas bonuses so that's not even remotely possible...

    Oh well, here goes...

Thanks for that Pennies, will let him know tonight. :)

I'm not sure whether he'll be convinced or not (and I know a lot of people aren't with student loans) but if it's a debt accruing interest then to my mind it should be paid off as fast as possible.

Im like this all the time, constantly looking for ways to get my hands on more money or save money somewhere or try and knock another month off what it would have taken to pay off.

I dont get xmas bonuses either, or a pay rise this year for that matter!!!
(i even check my email every sunday in the faint hope i might just have won the jackpot on the lottery:o:rotfl:)
