  • I'm 42, but spent the whole of the year that I was 41 thinking that I was 42 already (I kind of lost track :)) so even though I'm still knocking on a bit, I've got an 'extra' year from somewhere to try to do something useful in. Improving my maths would be a start :)
Eek! Someone's stolen my signature!

    I'll put your average up a bit, I'm 37.

I wish I'd had my LBM 10 years ago :o
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches
Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
  • i'm 31, I was really sensible in my early 20's, it all went pear shaped for us when we moved house, upped the mortgage, had two babies & 1 income. The last 7 years has without a doubt been the most expensive period of our life.

But i'm hoping we will be debt free by Jan 2008, then we have the rest of our lives to look forward too, back to two incomes with no debts, I cant wait!
  • I'm $%, but used to be 24.
    Overpay!
  • Wow I gotta say I also find it surprising to see so many between the age of 22 and 35 are regular posters on here. I think it just goes to show how expensive being young can be!

I guess the main difference between us and our parent's generation is that credit wasn't so freely available then but the initial hardships you face - moving out, taking your first steps into "the real world" with little money behind you and on a low salary, and the associated expenses of buying your own stuff (because you can no longer use theirs) - really don't seem to change that much. The only big difference is the method of payment (the available credit rather than saving up).

That sounds obvious but add on over-inflated house prices and massive student loans and it's little surprise we're in the situations we're in.
  • I'm 25.

Had my LBM just after my 25th birthday and could have done with it earlier but at least I had it.

Will be debt free by 28.

  • sorry, I'm just about to push the average age up quite a bit. I'm 43!

I tend to lurk rather than post as my debt is still accruing due to very, very expensive divorce, which is why I haven't posted on the DFW yet. I would put a smilie or something at this point but I'm at work and they don't work, if you see what I mean :o)
