They came in about 7 years ago. I got a tenner a week when I had my first son, and he's just turned 8.
Christ I must be the only person with a 15 year old child who has been getting them for donkey's.

Just for the correct info ;)
Family Credits ran from April 1986 to March 1999
Working Families Tax Credit ran from April 1999 to March 2003
Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit started April 2003

I never said you didn't work hard for your EMA. What I said was as you got your EMA in your hand you knew that you were getting it, but you didn't know about tax credits as it wasn't getting put in your hand you assumed you were not getting it.
