It was heart breaking seeing the figures at first, but now it just makes me want to see the numbers go down!!!
Not much going on today, been at work all weekend so no silly spends. DH was good too, they went down to an army camp open day on sat then cleaned the house on sunday so all in all a good weekend for the bank balance.
Have to take the cat to the vets later this morning as it seems to have hurt its back leg. Its not bothered and doesnt appear to be in pain but its not walking on it right. Really hoping its nothing major so wont cost alot. Fingers crossed. The cat seems more put out that she's been grounded till she has been checked out.
We have decided that we will pay off the sofa's. I know its 0% and runs out soon but it will be another one gone giving us another £64 to throw at terrence. That will only leave us with the 2 cc's and the beast of a loan. This makes me feel a little better as although its still a huge amount of debt, its not in so many places. We do have a £3k loan attached to our mortgage which is how we managed to get the mortgage we did, and DH keeps talking about clearing that too, but not adding it to the total as its part of the mortgage at the mo. Think it may just be something to stop us thinking about paying off the loan as thats going to take some doing. Think when it comes to clearing that i will have to break it down into little challenges as it is quite outfacing (if thats the right word).
Not long till pay day now when i can start putting money aside. DH's wage might be changing from weekly to monthly which will help us out a bit as asked then to do it at the end of the month so his wage will pay the mortgage rather than trying to use his wage to save up in the month for it.
Weather is undecided here so going to put a load of washing on in the hope it stays dry so i can get it out on the line. Did my meter readings this am and its showing i am in credit for both gas and elec!! Its amazing how much elec a tumble dryer uses!!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Well done on getting the shopping so low for the week. I think Ald* is good esp as there isnt as much choice to pick from so you dont spend as much on rubbish bits you dont really need (even though I still manage to spend a fair amount??)
Good luck with it all and look forward to hearing about anything yummy you make and can steal the receipyx

Congratulations on your marriage. And well done on taking the bulls by the horns and getting an accurate total so you know what you have to work towards.

Thanks for your encouraging words!
Well, had a bit of a panic yesterday with the cat. Took it to the vets to be told it had damaged its achellies (as a nurse the fact i cant spell it is a bit embarrasing:o) tendon and will need a costly operation. Cue not paying off the sofa's thinking the money might be needed to pay for that. Took it back this morning for the surgeon to see, and told it would cost £150 today then another £50 in a month. Not bad i thought, vet has just rung up to say the tendon is fine, she has been in a proper scrap as got bite marks on the other leg and a sore on her tummy so wont need the operation!!!!! I am so relieved but sad that she has been hurt so quickly outside and she hasnt ventured any further than our garden really. Got to go see the vet later and he will go through treatment for her wounds. poor thing.
Money wise not alot going on. School have decided on wed (tomorrow) that they are having a pirate day and the kids can dress up for a pound! For working mums, one days notice to get something together is stupid!!! Thinking i might draw an eye patch on ds1 with my eye liner then give him some stubble as refuse to go and get him a costume for a day. Its a shame really coz his class has a lot of crafty stay at home mums who can make fab costumes as they have all day. (no offence intended for stay at home mums, just the ones who make me look bad at school :rotfl:)
Last nights tea consisted of a gammon joint (£5 from a!di) that i boiled and roasted with chips. Wasnt sure if the kids would eat it but they wolfed it down, even ds2 who declares "i dont like ham" because it was called gammon! Have plenty left over for sarnies or was thinking of maybe doing a ham and veg soup with some of the water it boiled in and make some of the small bread rolls to mop up the juice.
Gonna try my jammie dodger biscuit recipe later, will report back and post recipe if any good. Cant beat a good jammie biscuit with a brew!!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Rags have you got any black electrical tape, you could use it to make black stripes on a white t shirt, then peel it off when finish, that way you won't ruin the top ( can u tell i've done this before) also coloured square of fabric I actually cut up one of OH old t shirts made it into a bandana and drew a skull and cross bones on the front using black marker, used black eyeliner for the eye patch.
Hope thats of some help.0 -
OMG thats really short notice!
Has he got a waistcoat? He could wear it over a white shirt, tie a piece of material round his head like a bandana, eyeliner stubble and moustache, scarf tied round his middle. Should make a pretty good pirate!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Well im back after having what has seemed like a mini meltdown! I was angry with anything and everyone! So so down in the dumps. Is there such a thing as post wedding depression?!?!:rotfl:
But, pulling myself together. Have still stayed on the mse track, transfered £500 of the wage to the debt fund, £100 to the house fund.
Work has finally given me a promotion, i am now in charge of all the audits and supporting the nurses. No pay rise yet (bit cheeky if you ask me, but i have just had one) but after the hols it will be better hours so can have weekends off with the hubby and kids and see them more in the week.
In the quest for a happier mind, me and my friend have started with a personal trainer. Costs less as there are 2 of us and will hopefully beat some food demons and finally get rid of the baby body i seem to be stuck with.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

It is cheeky of work to give you more work but no more money but at least you will be working nicer hours.
