Hello!!!!
Well i finally bit the bullet and now have 3 months mortgage holidays. This should hopefully give us a little breathing space and get back into the black, just have to keep our heads straight and not get too relaxed (we have done in the past and ended up worse than sqaure one)
Have almost got the kids summer clothes, well t-shirts at least as the supermarket was having a half price sale so most of their t-shirts were £2. I couldnt leave it knowing i needed them and ds1 and 2 have both grown and needed the next size up. Rubbish in the ladies section so i never got anything (as usual i may add)
Am having to start paying for the large items for the wedding now, very exciting although it does make me sad to see the wedding fund numbers go down. But least its not on credit!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

What a good decision to make hun, you are taking control and not letting it take control of you, well done
xxDebt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)
Loan 1 £1787
Loan 2 £1683
Total £8601 Was £393020 -
It was a very hard decision to make to have the mortgage holidays, and still feel a bit silly for needing them. oh well, onwards and upwards.
Most of the wedding is now paid for, just the hotel to pay in 2 weeks. The wedding fund will then be used for debt busting. First debt to go is the 5% LOB credit card as the sofa and honeymoon cc are 0% and the loan is gonna need a bit of a run up as thats a whopping amount to try and bust. Dont want to get disheartened. The sofa is all paid up in oct, co my plan is to pay off the debts in this order:
5% LOB cc,
Honeymoon cc,
mahooosive loan.
Hopefully when all that is paid off i can pay off the secured loan that formed part of our mortgage, its £3k but thats in the bigger plan of then trying to be mortgage free or getting a better house.
Being very good with tea tonight, one pack of mince for £3 from a!di is currently split into 2 meals, chilli for us grown ups and a bolognaise for the kids. Both will have plenty left over for the freezer. Handy for mid week meals for the OH to put together when i am work. Just need to teach him how to cook pasta, he is a dab hand at cooking the rice pouches in the microwave! :rotfl:
Feeling quite positive about my money at the mo, long may it last!!!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Long may it last indeed! I am exactly the same, in a very good place at the mo and debt busting is getting a good busting lol.
Here's to us! xDebt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)
Loan 1 £1787

Well, the last of the wedding will be paid this weekend!!!!!! Just shoes for the boys to get. Gonna charge people for the buses so wont cost me a penny! It was exactly one month yesterday till the big day, getting excited but nervous at the same time!!!! I am so chuffed that the only thing on credit is the honeymoon!:D
So, now all monies will go into the debt pot! I have already changed the name on the account so its sitting ready. Gonna have a sort out of things to sell but will use FB not ebay so i can keep all the money and not pay fees.
I have a re-newed reason to pay off the debts. I wanna go back to uni and train to be a health visitor. Those from prev diaries will know i have never wanted to be a nurse but a midwife (was supposed to do the 18 month top up) but when i have thought about it, its only the post natal stuff that i am interested in which is what health visitors do, and also utilises the diploma in nursery nursing i did before my nursing. It only pays a small bursery so my income will reduce dramatically (its a year course), something we can cope with if we had no debts to pay. Hoping to apply this year to start next sept.
So hopefully next week i will be back to buisness and not feel so much of a fraudster as will be busting the debts again!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Well, there's nothing like a blooming good goal to aim for to clear your debts.... and it sounds very much like you have one!!
Looking forward to hearing about your debt-busting again! Don't do yourself a dis-service though! Having only the honeymoon on credit is a MAJOR achievement!
xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Thats it, all the wedding is now PAID!!!! even managed to get the boys shoes at the weekend too. And i have still got £500 or so left over in the account, so if its not needed for something i might have forgotten about then it will be used as spends for the holiday and debts.
Thinking of changing my plan a little and paying the honeymoon cc off first, otherwise the 0% will run out before i have paid the LOB cc. Hopefully wont take us too long given we have asked for money towards the honeymoon instead of wedding pressies.
Have an approved foods order coming at some point hopefully this week, and might venture to a market in a nearby town where they have a meat man who apparently (my souces are very good) does some amazing deals! This should hopefully bring my food shop down a bit. Still need to do a freezer shop but really trying to eek it out.
My takeaway cook book has arrived!!!!! hoping to try some of the recipes in it as we love a good take away. Kids really wanna try the fried chicken recipe, although im not sure how similar it will taste as see no 10 herb/spices in the recipe?!?! :rotfl:December 2018: £20,850.24. So, the first debt to be gone will be the honeymoon cc which from the start of may is at £3145.47. This will be lower soon as have just paid off £50 and the wedding pressie money should start to come in soon.

Rollin' rollin' rollin' - keep those wheels turning!
Do you have a target amount to pay off it each week / month? I suppose it will depend on the amount of wedding pressie money you get!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Nothing much happening money wise in the rags household today.
I have decided to look for another job though, i am doing lots of 12 hour shifts at the moment and it seems to be affecting the kids as their behaviour at the moment is bad and i think its due to not seeing me or their dad much now a days (OH now working away most of the week) Not sure what i want to do as need to bring in a similar amount of money but with better hours so i am home more. This is also the reason why i want to re-train now. Work family balance is so hard to get right!!!!!!
Also, the house i love that is up the road is now up for sale, but i know i will have to watch it sell as cant afford to sell and buy it!Really starting to hate this house and the neighbours!!!!
So much i want to do, but little money to do it!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
Weight loss: 1.5lbs0
