.....he said I know what has happened, im not picking on you but the shoes where not able to stand you weight because you are so heavy.Who first mentioned the fat word first!...and who was diplomatic and said heavy!
Judging by the opening post, the shopkeeper did mention the weight, but did not use the word 'fat'.0 -

I think gordikin is saying sheena was the one who called herself fat where the shop keeper was more "diplomatic" (although imo not diplomatic enough considering he was speaking as a sales assistant to a paying customer). You keep using that word. And has the OP once made an "excuse" for her being overweight?
End of the day, fat people have various "excuses" and several reasons for being fat.
On the other hand, theres not any excuse or reason valid enough for being a complete !!!!!!.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

It is very common with slingback designs - even with "quality" shoes. I have at least one pair of Jones shoes with an elasticated slingback.
It allows the back to flex slightly as you walk so can be more comfortable. I have never had the elastic break though.0 -
Also in what you are saying if you called someone an ugly moose and they where ugly you would just be stating a fact
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so calling someone beautiful or ugly would merely be opinion rather than fact.Well I think it is insulting its something some people are insecure about, what if a shop keeper pick on an insecurity of yours would you not be insulted. Especially when he was just trying not to give me my money back.
But how was he to know you are insecure about your weight?? And how on earth would a shop keeper know what my insecurities were??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Following on from unholyangel's comments, there are plenty of very skinny people who are greedy, but conveniently don't get any abuse. The way I see it is overweight people get a lot of stick because you can see they're overweight- and to be quite honest, I think anyone who finds it fun to have a cheap dig at fat people is a very sad person and needs to grow up.
And before I get any snide comments, no I'm not overweight, but I do get annoyed when people feel it's acceptable to judge other people.
Back to the actual topic. There was no need for the shop keeper to mention your weight- anyone would have been offended by such a comment. It sounds to me like the shoes in question were poorly made fashion shoes. Shoes should be built to support a fair amount of weight- as you say, I've never known anyone break shoes because they're 'too heavy'.0 -
Sounds like the shopkeeper's just got a good sense of humour!Wedding 5th September 20150

How much did you pay for these shoes? I've bought some shoes that have lasted one night and that's all I expected because they were cheap.Getting married 02.08.14
