I applied through Quidco, it's tracking at £10

Can anyone help with this - if I withdraw cash abroad with this card I know interest is charged from the date it's withdrawn so when I pay it off in full after I receive the statement how do I know the exact amount I need to pay as the interest accumulates daily doesn't it??

The statement will not give you the exact amount therefore if you do not spend anything at all on the card, the next month's statement will have the daily accrued interest that you need to pay...called trailing interest. To avoid this, you can make a small overpayment that you calculate based on the daily interest between the statement date and payment date.

Has anyone applied for this card in the last few days? Wondering if anyone has received the outcome of the referral letter. Applied last Tuesday about 8pm online and got the "we will contact you within 10 days" screen. Wish I had just rung up now to apply for it!!

Got my agreement through the post the other day - 12.9% and limit of £5350! Quite amazed they gave me as much as they did!

Signed and posted back today. :)
    Regards, Robin.

I know Nationwide have withdrawn their 'free cash abroad' offer for their debit cards, which is how I used to get my cash whilst abroad (by withdrawing money from the first ATM I saw). this suited me fine because it was MY money in my account (as opposed to credit card) and I didn't have to carry travellers cheques or huge amounts of cash with me.

Should I now substitute my Nationwide debit card for the new Halifax credit card and use that to withdraw money abroad,... but actually overpay on the credit card before I travel so that I don;t hit interest charges...

    .. Would that work?

Its daft i cant just port my current Halifax One card to the Halifax Clarity Card. I dont even use the One card for anything in particular just to boost my credit rating etc. So i dont want to have two cards... or run the risk of beign rejected because i already have credit.. etc

See the other Halifax Clarity threads. Halifax preclude credit balances; if you overpay, they say they will send it back.

I have now received and used the Clarity credit card but am concerned that it may not be the reward one. I used the link from this thread and applied as a current customer but online banking states Standard card is that the same for everyone?

Mine shows on line as "Standard Credit Card" as well, but am 99% sure the agreement I sent back was headed Halifax Rewards Clarity Credit Card. Have spent my £300 now so just waiting to see what happens when the statement arrives.

I've just rung to ask the same question. Seems you can only have one 'core product'. However, the advisor checked and said although my current card had Halifax One showing, it had actually been changed to a Platinum card, which isn't considered to be a core product, so I was OK for the Clarity card.

She also said if I went into a branch with the reference no. she gave me, someone would print off my T&C and them fax them off. Cuts down on waiting for the posted version and then having to return them. Off to try it now!
  • Hi All,

I can also confirm my Reward Clarity Credit Card is showing as "Standard" on online banking.

Does anyone know if we will get £5 reward?

Can any other customers confirm if there Reward card is showing as Standard?
