Just got bored and applied for a ltsb basic account, dont want a normal account just one for my dds and to get in the door incase bank of scotland annoys me.
What are they like as a bank? Also what think if I changed my mind and went for the full account are they like for pre-approved offers.

I didn't like them as a bank, found my local branch to be rude, rates fairly low, telebanking fairly useless staffed with 20 year olds who couldnt care but you know each to their own!0

My local branch are actually quite good! They're all very polite despite the fact that I'm not a top paying customer with a fee paying account and they never fail to keep me updated if there's anything that they think might be of use to me personally while ignoring anything that isn't so I don't get tons of marketing. They even use my proper name in branch and I don't go in there that often! It's a nice change to get a personal touch!
I have a pretty bad credit file at the minute thanks to some screw ups not too long ago so I don't get any pre-approved offers so I couldn't comment on them but their online service isn't too bad. It's just recently changed and updated and I had a bug with it where I couldn't add my landlord as a person to be paid on my account and they did it for me within minutes of my ringing up to tell them so that side is pretty cool too.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with them but I do have two other accounts with other banks just in case they mess me around like Yorkshire Bank used to although to be fair, in two years I've not had a problem yet!
Hope that helpsDFD: 2017  | Savings: £1

They also have poor reputation in applying CPD mark on the account for no reason. My partner has that mark and no way of removing it.0

I've never had any problems, their phone and online banking seems secure and efficient.0

Yes. I'm a victim of that.. and as such am in the process of bug*ering off to another bank....I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

I've had a couple of minor niggles with them, but nothing major.
However, you say you applied for the account "in case bank of scotland annoys me".
You do know that both Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland are brands of the same parent company - Lloyds Banking Group - right?0 -
Yep, in Scotland all LTSB Scotland accounts are going to be migrated to Bank of Scotland accounts and the LTSB Scotland branches sold off, as is my understanding. We no longer have any Halifax branches in Scotland.
Has anyone found out yet what will happen when this merger is all over and we have Bank of Scotland in Scotland and Halifax/LTSB in the England, Wales and NI can someone with an old LTSB Scotland account that became a Bank of Scotland account or an old Scottish Halifax Account that became a Bank of Scotland account, use them in a branch of one of their "same group banks" south of the border.0 -
I don't like them so far. I have a Vantage account and it's taken me 3 days and £3.50 worth of calls (during work hours) just to transfer money. However for 4% interest I will persevere for now.0
