Lloyds TSB

I don't like them so far. I have a Vantage account and it's taken me 3 days and £3.50 worth of calls (during work hours) just to transfer money. However for 4% interest I will persevere for now.
To be fair to Lloyds TSB, they are one of the few banks who publicise a geographical number as an alternative to their main 0845 PhoneBank number (rather than have to be deduced from an international number).Lloyds_TSB wrote:If you need to call us from abroad or prefer not to use our 0845 number, you can also call us on 01733 347007.
So if you have a mobile phone the cost may be included with any minutes you have.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
Lloyds dont operate in NI. There are no branches at all. It is Halifax only.0

I find LTSB online account very good. Vantage accounts are great for me. The service in brach is slow and poor."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Yep, in Scotland all LTSB Scotland accounts are going to be migrated to Bank of Scotland accounts and the LTSB Scotland branches sold off, as is my understanding. We no longer have any Halifax branches in Scotland.
Have they confirmed that this will be going ahead for sure?
I like Lloyds and their procedures - I don't want a BoS account as I had problems with their !!!!!! customer service in the past.0 -

Lloyds Banking Group have confirmed they plan to sell off Lloyds TSB Scotland (see below link):-

There has been no mention as to the fate of Lloyds TSB Scotland customers after the divestment. It's a natural assumption that these customers will automatically fall under the jurisdiction of Bank of Scotland after the merger and divestments are completed as this will be the only Lloyds Banking Group brand present in Scotland.Fiddlestick wrote: »I don't want a BoS account as I had problems with their !!!!!! customer service in the past.
Keep in mind as part of any merger Bank of Scotland procedures, back office, and front end (e.g. Online) will most likely be harmonised with Lloyds TSB (seeing as it's less merger, more takeover). Personally I'm the polar opposite of yourself in terms of opinion. I hold accounts with Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland, preferring the latter.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. Mind you the EU have also order the banks that got state aid to sell of some of the parts.
That's exactly why Lloyds Banking Group are divesting Lloyds TSB Scotland (along with some English Lloyds TSB branches (under the "TSB" brand), Cheltenham & Gloucester, and Intelligent Finance).Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. Funny how they don't publicise that number when you've been locked out, they just say phone us on 0845... to get it sorted. I'm just a total MSE about my phone, I topped up £10 2 months ago and was hoping to last til August on that!0 -
Has anyone found out yet what will happen when this merger is all over and we have Bank of Scotland in Scotland and Halifax/LTSB in the England, Wales and NI can someone with an old LTSB Scotland account that became a Bank of Scotland account or an old Scottish Halifax Account that became a Bank of Scotland account, use them in a branch of one of their "same group banks" south of the border.
You will be able to EVENTUALLY.100% G33K:D:D:D:D

We do have Halifax branches in Scotland. I use 2 regularly in Glasgow, as well as the BoS branches. I hold both Halifax and BoS accounts.
I can't see that they can just migrate our accounts to another part of the banking group without doing a full merger. Has it actually happened to anyone?0
