Does anyone have the same problem as me,i have a G1 Tmobile phone,800 mins unlimited texts, unlimited internet for £30 pm,but when i send an extra long text they charge me these text as an mms,i called them about this a few months ago,and they were very abrupt and said it was the phone that was converting these texts into mms text and charge me 20p per text.My dearest bill has been £59,and i dont use voicemail much or send many photos,Unfortunately my contracts not up untill febuary 2011,so im stuck with them but will be ditching them then,my wife is in the same boat as well so shes changing as well.

How exactly are T-Mobile ripping you off when the phone is sending a MMS instead of a text message?
Does the phone not have an option to disable this?0 -

I agree, I don't think this is down to T-Mobile, there will be a setting in the handset set to send long messages as MMS - In the message list, press MENU and then touch Settings to adjust the text or multimedia message settings0 -
Its there phone and they never told me how to disable so its possible that it cant be disabled on the phone.0

By law T-Mobile should be telling G1 users this, I have never heard of a mobile do this and I have had hundreds ! Consumer Direct yourself.
Is this only in the T-Mobile software version G1 users ?If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:0 -
Actually its quite common for some mobiles to do this, especially certain Sony Ericsson models (C905, W995, W705), its a feature which can be turned on or off, not sure which law T Mobile have broken by not telling people how to use their phones0

Used to run an I T/Office Services department. Issued lots of mobiles to staff and also manuals. People want the advanced technology but can't be bothered to put in an hour learning about it.
There are factory settings on any piece of technology. You should ALWAYS read what these are and see if they fit your needs. Learn how to use the device, or swap it for a basic £9.99 Nokia.0 -

There isnt any law, this is why a manual is sent with your phone, ignore it at your peril0 -
My phone sends those little animated emotes as an MMS as well - although you can tell it's changed to an mms0

Listen guys there's nothing in the manual about switching this off/on.I contacted the consumers rights and they say I've got a case and they will look into it,if I pay them a £30 fee.0
