Bought ebay item £110,not received and seller has gone AWOL!!! Now what do I do???

No, we were saying your advice was, not you.

If you ever get into a UK 6th form you will have to take a rather strange exam called 'General studies'. A lot of common sense stuff is covered in that exam and you may find once you are a little older some of the stuff they will teach you actually covers basic common sense notions. I'm sure you will find it of interest.

I'm not your hun, or anyone else's for that matter.
I do believe for a comment to be racially fuelled it would have needed to include some reference to the race, that it was allegedly discriminating against.
Your advice is crap. Regardless of where you may or may not be from.
Sometimes peoples best just is not good enough.

No, you can only have a case open with either ebay or Paypal, one will get closed.

It's OK, but it's far from ideal.

Best case scenario, ebay close their case, Paypal's stays open and you win that case.

Worst case: Ebay and Paypal both see you've opened a counterpart case on the opposite site, so close the one on theirs... meaning you've got 2 closed cases and no way of re-opening one.

Either way, I'd leave it as it is now, don't close one yourself (ie Paypal) in case the other site (ebay) decides to close theirs and let the other decide.

Technically, it could all end well, hopefully it will... but you never know.

This forum exists to provide good information and assistance to people who may have need of it, having silly remarks and poor advice posted is dangerous. It not only makes you look foolish it could seriously cost someone who believed you serious money.

Many of the regulars here spend a lot of their spare time trying to help people with some quite complex issues, only by supporting each other can we stay safe online, especially on ebay and paypal. Unfortunately whilst the others can block you, and I believe many have already, I cannot so all I can do is try to correct false and dangerous advice you may be giving.

You ask an innocent question and all hell breaks loose! Thank you to those that are giving sensible advice.

OK, maybe not the best thing then to open cases with both parties (???), but its done now. To those that know what they're doing here is it worthwhile calling both parties on monday to ensure they don't close they're cases. There is no advice (other than what I'm asking here) saying not to open cases with ebay AND Paypal, so how are us newbie ebayers supposed to know what to do in this situation??
