I did plan on just doing nothing, but then something called "energy" (yes, I had to look up the definition too) seemed to take hold, and MADE me do these things :rotfl:

Something which grabs hold of you and makes you do things (especially early morning on a weekend) isn't called energy - it's pronounced "demonic possession".

You want to be careful of that - next it'll be forcing you to eat tinned sprouts, and then where would you be?

  • Hypno, inspired by you I have decided to get a cleaner again. My house is getting me down and nothing is giving me the motivation to clean it the way I like it. I keep 'on top' of it and its not a hovel but it needs much more and for me there is no bigger motivater than a stranger coming in every week looking closey at my 'grub' (ie a cleaner) to motivate me into keeping the house as I like it and like others to see it. The only shame I have is that I feel guilty that it takes a cleaner to shame me into getting my act together when I should want to do it for my children and the home they live in rather than for a stranger!? :o

So this weekend I will clear, declutter and clean getting it acceptable enough for a cleaner to begin her weekly job here. Then I will start looking/asking around for a good cleaner. Will probably start with 2 or 3 hours per week.

I also would like to add fresh flowers into my grocery budget each week (makes me feel more homely) they don't have to be expensive just pretty and I will cut back on something else to make the flowers 'neutral' but they are one of my now 'must haves' :)

    Have a good day

I have been lurking for a while but felt I had to say I treat myself to flowers and the pleasure they bring is well worth the £4/5 spent, and usually they last 2 weeks. I unpack all my shopping saving the flowers till the end as something to look forward to! Quite sad really! Just shows though that you don't have to spend much to get something that gives you a nice feeling of luxury.

The demonic possession has made me clean the big fridge - all foodstuffs of questionable age, (and some which were just questionable!) have been evicted, leaving me with just some onions, a yellow pepper, beer, wine and a clove of garlic.....:rotfl:All the shelves and drawers are sparkly clean and it is ready for me to go shopping and fill with nutrition!

I still have the small fridge to do but will tackle that one later today - I am sure something is blocked at the back because there is water sitting in a puddle somewhere, so that needs investigating.....but it will be done after my viewers have been, just in case I end up causing more mess than I started with :o

Well that's 2 of your 5 per day...

Smaller fridge is now cleaned and unblocked, and online shop done ready to be delivered tomorrow. One set of viewers has been, and seemed quite keen, so fingers crossed. They are in a position to move, with no chain, from what I can gather, as are yesterday's viewers, whereas the ones coming in an hour are only just putting theirs on the market, so hopefully one of them will like it enough to put a reasonable offer in....we shall see.

Washing machine is working hard, as I ran out of washing tabs earlier in the week so am behind on the washing. By the end of the day it should all be up to date though. Then tomorrow, I am going to tackle DS's wardrobe and drawers as I am sure there is a load of stuff that goes unworn either because it is too small, out of date or simply buried under loads of other stuff.....charity bags at the ready!

Thank you for the welcome back! Things are good in the muddy household but I have been away from threads like yours too long and had started to lack motivation in just about everything. Getting back on track now with the aim of paying off the extra mortgage we took out to have an extension years ago. £10,000 just made me:eek:so I took a bit of paper and divided into 100 and then I thought of you!:rotfl:

Today I filled in my first box with a nice smiley face and coloured it in. I want to play with my colouring in buddies again:T:rotfl:.

Good luck with the viewers! xx

 hello Pania! Hope things are ok with you. I often think of you when I feed the dog cheese!:rotfl:It works wonders!
