Have you worked out how many points is in it?
    L

No, but I reckon it can be easily worked out from the ingredients. I think it is quite good, pointswise because it is really filling.

    Here goes:

    Ingredients;

    100g dried macaroni
    6 eggs
100g bacon lardons (I used chopped up tesco value cooking bacon)
    150g grated cheddar cheese
    200ml milk
chopped chives (I didn't have any and it didn't miss them)
    salt and pepper

Cook the macaroni (takes 10-12 mins or so on the hob in water) and drain it.

Pre heat oven to 200 degrees and grease a good sized flan case or deep baking tray. I used the lid from my biggest pyrex casserole dish.

Fry off bacon bits until nicely brown.

Beat 6 eggs in a big bowl, add milk, grated cheese, salt and pepper, and the cooked bacon and macaroni. Give it a stir, then pour into the flan dish.

Bake in the oven for 35 mins or so until the top is golden brown.

This would very easily serve 4 on its own, or 6 if you added veggies, baked beans or a salad.

It is very filling, and deeeeee-lish! Apparently is good served cold too.

Guess what I am having for packed lunch tomorrow :rotfl:

Yes I can report Oven Pride is my mate - love it!

I forgot I'd promised little DD I'd make her apple crumble (last supper before her first day at school!) so I didn't "double dip".
Now I've got enough to do it again :money:

I don't think I'm brave enough to use it neat on the oven without the bag, but the shelves are always the hardest work, so that is a lifesaver in itself.

Thanks again for mentioning. Oh and I bought mine in Morrisons for £3.88

On a "serves 6" basis, it works out at 6 points per portion.

This is using skimmed milk but with full fat cheddar cheese.

Yes, I have seen. However, my early start and busy weekend has caught up with me and I have made the conscious decision not to do my "lists" tonight. I have read today's challenge and have a fairly good idea already what will be on my list (the last few "homeworks" are basically things I have been doing in recent weeks since I started to work out where I was heading after OH left, so much of the information has already been brainstormed!), but I will write it up properly during the week, when I am more "with it".

I do think they are excellent challenges, that are perfect for so many people on these boards. Obviously, MG is the main focus, but if the rest of us can benefit too, then that is a fantastic bonus.

  • been off the boards for a few days and came back to discover your fab new total, so glad your claim came through and that is something else toxic off your list.

also really pleased about the tips on oven pride, i spent a few hours a month or so ago trying to clean my oven shelfs, they are better but no where perfect, so will give that bag a go, sounds brilliant....
    have a great week

I really can't tell you how easy it was to get the shelves clean - if the rest of the oven is half as easy to do, and gets the same results I will be extremely happy.
