I was thinking more about "family" presents - eg a game that the children and their parents could play, rather than buying one present for the parents (usually wine or chocs) and one each for the children....

I will investigate suitable things - I don't want the children to miss out, and I am Godmother to a couple of them, so they are special to me, but it is all about getting the balance right. There are 3 sets of families, plus his parents.

I have returned home to a clean house. V happy, and she is a soda crystals and white vinegar sort of girl, so all very OS :D I do have a personal challenge to sort out the cupboard under the stairs though, because she was not able to jam Henry back in :o But.....by next Thursday, it will be ordered and tidy and not a risk to life or limb!

I also came home to find MemoryGirl's book, so will read that this evening....

    Hurrah for cleaners :T

We are having discussions at work about things we can make for Christmas, so I'll post anything we come up with. Saving coffee jars (the ones with "Dow" in the title ;)) is a favourite of one friend, she then fills them with sweets and ties a ribbon around. Plus we are making the hampers inspired by the wonderful DT. I like the cinema evening idea with DVD and popcorn....perhaps a homemade games compendium might be good, packs of cards, jenga etc etc

  • Am so pleased the cleaning has been a success Hypno - you should find it really relieves you of a burden, and you can get ahead in other areas - yes, like planning for Xmas! BTW, is Shred easy to follow? As Mrs R is quite unco-ordinated and rubbish at following instructions....and how mch space do you need? Our sitting room is fairly spacious but if it involves flinging your limbs around, might have to re-organise....am feeling a little temped by Shredding - but is prob a flight of fancy on my part as lack discipline to do formal stuff, really...speaking of of which, must now take my little mutt out for his evening stroll.....

co-ordination is required, but not much space needed. And definitely needs to be done with no chance of an audience.......

But if it appeals, give it a go :j

After all, which audience would be fascinated by things bouncing up and down... ;)

Thanks for the free book link - I've just gone on Wotnix and got the free book of the day The Crafty Divas DIY Stylebook. A perfect pressie for the cost of the postage!
