Hurrah for envelopes. It has worked pretty well for me too and I intend to keep it up.
Payday for me is on Wednesday - fingers crossed mine comes early! Have a good day x0 -
Not a great start to the day - went to take out some cash, and the machine says my card has expired so has been retained.
Now, I know for a fact that the card has not expired, and it is my "everyday" card, which has been used regularly for petrol etc without any problems over recent days. So I am a bit flummoxed as to why it has been retained as expired.
And of course, the Halifax phone lines say "we are very busy and you might have to wait a while for us to be bothered to speak to you"......hmmm, wonder if it is another of the Halifax glitches that they have had over the last year or so when all their customers have their accounts frozen etc.

Have they sent you a new card recently with crossover dates ? And you need to activate it ? I know you are on top of stuff like that but you never know.DC.

It had an expiry date of 2011!!!
They just said "ooh, it is an error....."
Yup!
So, anyway, now I have to wait 7-10 working days for a new one!
Good job I have another account elsewhere that I can transfer cash into with faster payments and that I can use, otherwise I would be up a certain creek without a paddling implement!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well hopefully it will be 5 days, I know Pickle and jo1972 have had similar experiences recently.
If it was me I would be miles down said creek, just shows you are on top of it.DC.

Well, a combination of not a great paypacket and some big expenses due out in the next month mean that the envelopes are sadly rather empty.
So. I really do have no choice but to be as frugal as I can possibly be for the next few weeks. Student goes home tomorrow, so I only have to worry about feeding me and the children, and we are happy enough with storecupboard meals and egg and chips, so that will be the order of the day.
I don't think I am wrong in saying that this will be my toughest month yet since OH left, so it really is a challenge to myself to get through it without causing myself a problem. I think that if I can get through to September's payday, I can get through almost anything.

Hey there!
Since I am catching up on 'the back story', I have no doubt you will get thru to Sept paycheck, it will be tough, possibly, but you will do it.
