That is a lovely sentiment -you will feel as if he is still with you on those runs.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I know I can't throw them out yet, but things have a way of sorting themselves out.DC, I couldn't throw away the t-shirts that Dad got when he did marathons that we ran together way back in the early 90s.....I have kept them, will wear them with love, remind myself that he is encouraging me round those long runs on dark wet evenings through the winter, and be very glad that I have kept them.
And there is nothing wrong with this. As long as you are holding onto them and they are making you happy. The time to get shut of things is when they are holding you back rather than spurring you on.

As far as I remember, you have to stabilise any stretchy fabric with vilene or something similar while cutting and assembling the top of the quilt, so the design stays in the right place. google will know!
What about cushion covers from old tshirts, they'll be more manageable through the sewing machine?‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

See I'd love to do that, a cushion or blanket, old t-shirt, unique to me and mine. Why am I missing the sewing gene ?
Took me 4 years to finish snoopy 2nd year 1980 to 5th year 1984 (by then I didn't care), but it doesn't get any better, DS 2 can rip the seams of his trousers 4 times after I've attempted a repair...DC.

Now that makes me feel old, I left school in 1981. Still haven't finished the tapestry clutch bag I started in the first year in 1976.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. But 1976 was very hot, so you are forgiven....DC.

Almost everything else of his has gone either to the bin or to the charity shop. But those two or three t-shirts are going nowhere :A
Hi hon, why dont you make cushion covers with them, no need to cut or ruin them in anyway, just put a large enough cushion in, sew around the neck, tuck the arms in and sew down them then sew across the bottom, a lovely reminder of him and something to snuggle into after those runs. or DC if you have a number of them, make a quilt from them, cut around the front, stitch them all together then stitch them to some quilted backing, then have a plain piece of material as the rear. they would like great and be a lovely reminder and something for the kids to snuggle into that would remind them of their dad. xxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0
