I think it's me taking over the thread!! Sorry, my posts are just rambling a bit now and have no structure.
Pardon my ignorance....
Good luck this afternoon Claire! I have read a lot of CMs saying they are looking for work on Netmums, due to the recession, but just not where I need them!
Glad Caitlyn's MMR went ok Krystal.
Beenie - I have a Dyson and I don't like it. It whines a lot. So DH does most of the hoovering ha ha!
Pinkpig - Have a lovely holiday, and Happy Birthday to Caitlyn when it comes.
Good luck Hammy with your appointment. Really hope you get somewhere now.0 -

When mum picked Benjamin up from his CM one day mum ended up staying for an hour 'talking shop'!!! (CM lives in Staffordshire so no link there)
Good luck for this afternoon Claire x

Hardly, Bad night before as I knocked my hot chocolate over off the bedside table and spent over an hour cleaning it up so was shattered. Then last night was even worse. At 1am the smoke alarms went off and as they are electric they all kicked in  DH stayed in bed until on the 3rd go of me telling him to get up he stood on the landing  while I in panic checked all the kids rooms then ran to the garage to press the hush button. That kept on happening for nearly 2 hours until he finally checked them all and a spider crawled out of the one on the top floor!
Can't help with CM sorry, I've only ever used a Nursery.
Sami, will pass my Next pin code on as soon as I get it! XXXToo many children, too little time!!!0 -
Claire_Jones wrote: »Even if she was doing holiday cover for another childminder then she shouldn;t be going over her registered numbers - mine are 1 under the age of 1, no more than 3 under 5's (including the under 1 if I have one) and no more than 3 between ages of 5 and 8. Over 8's is unrestricted as long as it doesn't impact on under 8's care.
Ofsted make you display your registration and insurance documents so if she couldn't find them I'd be concerned - although I appreciate the rules may be different in Scotland. However what if your child had a medical issue and she couldn't find the details of their medication or I am just over reacting now!
Feel free to ask anything else and I'll tryo to find out on regulations etc in Scotland.
Offsted can grant exemptions to the rules in certain cases. My CM had to have an exemption granted to take Benjamin when I moved up to full time work because it clashed with another girl she looks after. So on 2 afternoons a week CM has 2 x 4 year olds, 1 x 2 year old and Benjamin at 1 year old (2 of the kids are her own) - Offsted granted this but wouldn't do so until after I placed Benjamin with the CM on a part time basis first so it was risky but worked out.
Actually, thinking about it, Offsted have granted her another exemption about a month ago as a short term arrangement with another 4 year old (I think she only has him for 6 or 7 hours a week).
Anyway, my point being that a CM can be outside of the usual numbers but I would expect to see proof that she has been approved to be so (and indeed I did!).
If a CM has more children than she is registered for is she then uninsured?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I'm a mean mummy - have put tired girl down for a nap. You would have thought I was doing something terrible to her
Anyway, I'd betting do a few bits while she is yelling - as soon as she drops of i'm going to have a nap too

I am quite close to mine as a friend now, we live almost on the same road, and share fish! And she said she'd look after the kitties when we move so its not too stressful for them. Although I'm not going to take her up on that, as she has two labradors and my poor kitties would die of fright!!
Viewing a house later today :J
ATM we pay £595 for a house with a ancient kitchen, no parking or double glazing and a wild garden which is full of bushes and just isnt suitable for S to run around in without a lot of work. The house we are viewing is £695, but has a modern fitted kitchen, garage, an allocated parking space, a "low maintenance garden" (I'm guessing probably either paved, gravelled or just lawn?) and it looks like a really nice estate. I hope its as nice as it sounds!Mummy to

Can anyone advise please ?
A friend has just contacted me to offer me a freelance project, which sounds really interesting and the money would be useful too - does anyone know if I will forfeit my smp if I work, even as a one-off like this?
You can do as much self employed work as you like without it affecting your SMP.
If you claim Maternity Allowance, you can't do any work at all.
Don't get me started on how unfair that is!My hoover is shoite!!! Keeps cutting out. Just googled and a million people say the same thing lol. I have 2 but the cylinder one doesn't get the dog hairs up off the carpet..
How much would you pay for a used Dyson? Like on eBay? They're a fortune new
I was eyeing up this one, wants £30 for it... what you reckon?
If you can find a cheap Miele Cat and Dog, you won't regret buying it. I love mine and it copes brilliantly with a mix of hair from two collies and two long haired people! Here I go again on my own....0 -
Good luck with the house Em, DD1 was in the same situation.
Hope you get a nap Ladybird! XToo many children, too little time!!!0 -
Good luck with the house Em!
Did your OH decide if he was going to do the course he was interested in? I remember you discussing it a while ago, but can't remember if you made a decision or not as you had some reservations.0
