  • Good afternoon everyone,

Finished arranging the furniture in Katies room this morning, so she can actually walk around. I put the base coat on the butterfly I'm painting on her wall (it's going to be all metallic colours).

Grandma and Grandad have already been round to see Katie after their holiday, they've brought her something back but it was at my brother's house. Grandma was most surprised to see Katie had moved.

I'll book the 29th off on Monday when my manager is back.

When Katie was tiny DH just made sure that there was pate and bread in so I could do pate on toast for my lunch.

Katie currently munching her way through a toasted cheese pitta bread, tomatoes and garlic stuffed olives, I'm having leftover chinese.

Cafc - I try and follow the principles of the GI diet, it's currently maintaining my weight, I really must get back into it properly as I do actually loose weight.

    Yay, I don't remember the trousers but I'm sure they're stunning ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I wasn't expecting you to remember the trousers but I had hoped that you might remember our conversation where I said that if I went back to the size I was when I met you I would be much happier!!!

CAFC, the most helpfull thing DH did for me when Caitlyn was first born was to make me a packed lunch at the same time as he made his own so no matter how caught up in the baby I was, there was a sandwich waiting for me... :)

The kids of house of tiny tearaways seem like well rounded eaters compared to DH's eating habits..... :rotfl:

    hi there.

sales - sounds like your LO is doing okay. Sorry you missed out on the fun today. May I ask if you were leaving her with someone or don't feel able to BF while out and about?

A big thing for me is leaving LO with other people - its only now my sister has a LO (4 weeks old) I've realised how bad at it I am! I have the opposite problem from Krystal. Lots of willing helpers, but between my (not keen on In laws) and hubby (doesn't like the idea of anyone other than our parents looking after LO) then we are a bit stuck - or rather I am! Hubby seems to do alright out of it. Recently though I've seen good friends who I think of as excellent parents find a really good balance of time with their kids and time to themselves and I aspire to be more like them - and taking steps to do so. I'm off for a girls spa weekend, though sorry its just the one night now and hubby and I are hoping to go away together the two of us next month.

I have to tell you about my morning - I had my first proper conversation with Annabel, instigated by her, that made sense and was understood by both her and I

LO: Daddy no here! Daddy no here!
me: no, Daddy isn't here today
    LO: Daddy where?
me: Daddy has gone with his friends to play rugby for the weekend. He'll be back tomorrow.
    LO: wow wee. Morrow, morrow!

    it made me so proud!

r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this response :p
  • Yay for conversations MacSmiler! What a clever girl!

We seem to do okay with getting out and about as a couple (luckily MIL lives close by so can babysit without having to stop over or have LO at hers). But I don't do so well at getting out with friends :(

My 'going out alone' credits (if there is such a thing) tend to be taken up with work overnighters.

But I guess when they are little something has to give and I am lucky to have a reasonably good social life with a baby.

That first conversation is brilliant isn't it

I'm amazed at some of the words Katie comes out with as I can't remember her hearing them or how she knows how to use them.

Her phrase of the day "I don't want to" with a grumpy look on her face.

She is in the process of making and decorating paper trumpets, she even got the sellotape out of the drawer and attempted to stick them together herself.

DH and I don't really do going out alone, mum looks after Katie so much I feel guilty asking her to have her in the evenings as well.

r.mac i was going to leave her with mil - it is a 2 hour car journey each way and oh though having the baby with us would cramp dd style and we should spend some quality time with her. Anyway i'm rambling - i'm not very confident about bf in public but i'm getting better thanks to some fab tips from posters on here.

    Hooray for yr conversation
