Thanks everyone, I am glad I am feeling more 'normal' or as close to normal as I ever get lol...

I can't believe we are practically at the end of week 3 of the school holidays, only 2 and a bit to go....not that I want rid of course, in fact I have actually enjoyed the time with the older 2 these past few weeks. My mum came yesterday so we could take the older 2 swimming again and it was fabulous, we went to a different pool and te kids LOVED the slide so we might try and take them to stoke-on-trent waterworld before the holidays finish, as it is full of slides there.

oh and my mum was thoroughly jealous that my 7 & 9 year olds have iphones when even she hasn't got one haha x

    dt1 excellent news on breathing:D

MFD - I am thoroughly jealous of Benjamins talking.......very pleased he is doing so well though:D

Bruno - Cute E story as usual:) I hope Mrs Bruno is doing well, you must both be getting quite excited, as it is well over the halfway point now. I forget, did you still have a lot of baby stuff from E that you can use or are you having to buy lots again?

    xx

  • Mel - I was jealous of Kai's sleeping for ages so I guess we are even ;)

    You 'sound' much better xx

Aless - shame about the job...although I thought you were planning to not work now?

I think childcare is just about being happy with your choices and not having to question yourself internally as to whether your child is getting the care it needs - I think that applies to EVERY type of childcare from daycare to family members and babysitters. I wouldn't leave Benjamin with 2 of my SILs because I think there would be too many questions in my mind about how they would look after him - I might in an emergency because they are family and they love him but in general I would be more inclined to leave him with the PW than with them :p

MFD stop being so wise!!! Its exactly what I thought when I read brunos post/link:D except you managed to communicate that in less than 6000 baby-style words. Oh and I'm having those frustrated conversations as well. It gets better......

needing help/advice does anyone use/have a trunki suitcase?
I really want to buy Annabel one. we have a couple of trips coming up and thought it would be great for change of clothes/toys/colouring books/snacks etc even if she is probably too small to ride on it yet. I wondered about also getting the bag which fits inside and/or as a car travel bag. first question is what do people who haave one think of it and second what colour options are there for the bags? I can only find a pink or blue one but was fancying a bumble bee suitcase and I'm a bit funny and like things to match :o:p:D I think it would bother me if they didn't match:rotfl:

    thanks

MFD, I need to work PT for a little while longer...until next April. (because I've already earned too much money this year to be eligible for the higher TCs & such)

It would take 1.5hrs on the bus/train to get there, so definitely not worth it for part-time, average pay!!

would like to win a holiday, please!!

    Hi MacSmiler :D

I asked about Trunki's the other day!

Krystal has one and she said it is not ideal as an airplane bag because the way it opens is completely in half so it takes up a lot of room/is difficult to pack loads of stuff into.

I am also desperate for Benjamin to have one but I figured I would wait until he is 2 and has his own plane seat and then he can use it as his hand luggage. Whilst he is still on my lap then it will not be replacing my handbag

I haven't seen the bags that go inside - off to look....
Edit: Ooo - they would solve the problem...although I might be tempted to buy 2 to make it neat :o I would buy a trunki that matched the innards I am afraid :o

My preference is for a Cow
Edit: well it was...now cow appears to have vanished! Must have been a limited edition. Oh well, at least I can buy one that matches the bags now!

there is a cow one???? We have just ordered Annabel the cow print smart trike and everytime I see anything cow print think of Elle and Rhys!!!!

oh and my problem with the matching bags is that I have a real dislike of the colour of pink they use..........but i may have to bite the bullet on this one.

last time we flew was with BA and Annabel got full baggage allowance to herself it was brilliant - a hold bag up to 23kgs, a piece of hand luggage, her buggy and a carseat if we had wanted. Made it worth flying with them alone. We aren't taking her with us (gulp) when we go in the Autumn and the other trips are going to be by car so I suppose we don't really need one right now......although I m really keen to buy her one with my boots points. That doesn't count as spending does it?!:rotfl::rotfl:

Oh pooo....I just tried T's christening dress on her (while K is napping) and it is too small 0-3 so I will have to take it and change it today or tomorrow, it was from the market and I can't find the reciept!! I hope he will just swop it for me. I tried K's on him yesterday and he looks fantastic little pants shirt and waistcoat set:) The rest of us are all set with outfits and the Sunday dinner has been booked at our local pub for afterwards, then I have just said anyone who wants to is welcome back to ours for a drink/cake after that.....I think only my friend plus family, my mum plus oh and MIL plus oh will come back though, everyone else will probably just go home after the meal.

  • Ooh, trunkies - we have a Gruffulo, which currently has pride of place in Liam's bedroom. It's the 1st thing he goes for and his current obsession is peeling off all the stickers that came with it. We'll be taking if on its first outing in Sept, when it will be classed as hubbys hand luggage lol. I'm hoping it will keep L & my niece entertained :D

It is rather large when folded out but I'm wondering if matching bags will make it easier to pull out a bag from the top rather than rummaging for something loose. May have to investigate
  • Lots of lovely photos recently :grinheart - Hammy I especially like your avvy pic, very cheeky. Mel - you have 2 cuties there - and that sounds like a lovely and relaxed christening day.

Hope all the ladies are having a fab time at the meet.
