What annoys me most about the attitude that sex shouldn't be talked about is that teenagers who get their sex information from pornography don't realise the amount of behind the scenes stuff that goes on. There are fashions in pornography - a friend of mine who works in a medical centre in the UK is horrified by the number of girls coming in with nasty infections because they've let their boyfriend go, um, from the back to the front without a wash or a change of condom in between. They don't realise that the girls on the screen are taking precautions to stop that happening before and after the shot.

For me, it's the best approach, the lack of mystery. You can see violent films & listen to thug rappers, but sex is 'dirty' and poked fun at and made into some cheap thing that people should be embarrassed about. I blame Katy 'tacky' Perry.:rotfl:

This is the thing with !!!!!!, the girls are more protected and in the know than someone who goes out of an evening on the pull. They are regularly tested and need certificates before any shoot and anyway, if it's degrading to women as some put it, how can it not be degrading to men who are less than average? They make it out as all men are beasts in a certain area and can go for hours (numbing gel and edits) Man has limits. It doesn't offend me, but i'm sure some blokes feel inadequate.

Their are some sections of !!!!!! and the sex world that are pure wrong, but it's the same with anything. Exploitation is not limited to one employment area. Then their is prostitution, that I think that should be legal for safety of those involved, but that's another story....

Anyway, save all that for the other thread. Don't know where it is and won't look, but will stop talking about it as wrong place for it.

If you think it makes me mad, Lucy would have a fit (at people who call it degrading, not at me)

mums are great at being practical and never look at things sentimentally. like the 1st pair of shoes etc...

I wasn't able go to the meet as couldn't get the day off work (I told SM already). I am supposed to be down south at a client meeting right now, but I got a phonecall from the nursery while I was on my way to say C has a temperature of 38.8.

I'm pretty sure it's the effects of her injections last week, as she's showing most of symptoms listed. She's quite bad though - she's either asleep, or wanting cuddles. When she's awake, she's crying most of the time She's had calpol but it doesn't seem to be helping much. I phoned the doctors and they can't fit her in(!) so told me to take her to hospital if she doesn't improve.

She's asleep at the moment, so I'm going to see how she is when she wakes up and then go to the hospital. I know it's best to get her checked out, but will feel guilty for going to the hospital and wasting their time if is a reaction to the MMR.

I hope she feels better soon. Don't feel guilty about 'wasting time'. She comes first and if you have any worries, that's what they are there for.

MOTM- how is your DD who had the problems with the teacher? I saw that the teacher is no longer at the school. Hope she is ok after it all

She's fine thanks. No visable lasting damage and enjoys going to school again. I think having her friends, form tutor and most importantly, myself, Lucy and her sisters supporting and believing her, helped immensely. I'm proud of how she handled herself and the years i've taught them all to stand up for themselves and be honest paid off.

Is it all quiet now that family have returned to Ireland?

Hope C is okay Choppy - have you done all the usual things to cool her down (taking her clothes off, a cool flannel etc).

Does her temperature come down with the Calpol?

MOTM I was in the US and watching daytime TV one day, turned on Oprah's breast cancer special. They had a woman showing exactly how to palpate the breast to check for lumps - but they fuzzed it out :mad: and then on the next channel was uncut Terminator 2. Unbelievable. Violence, totally ok. Nonsexual boobs, verboten.

thats great. i kept meaning to ask you but kept missing you when you were 'online'

very quiet. miss mum loads and i know she misses Kian loads. when she is here i let her be very much part of everything with Kian---feeding, nappy changes, walks out etc.

we skype every week so she can see Kian and he can show his new found skills... seeing him crawl on the webcam she said was amazing. Cant wait for her to see him when he takes those first steps.

it was great spending time with my brothers as well. Kian loved them and all the throwing around he got from them lol!!
