Bruno, I did the poll, I think some of the ladies who have voted have been telling fibs, the percentage who deny using pornography at all is massive!

    So did I :)

I hate the knee-jerk "!!!!!! is bad for women and makes men into misogynistic bastages therefore I am against it" response. Some !!!!!! is exploitative, some is not. Some men are misogynistic bastages and !!!!!! might support their bastagery - but I doubt seeing people having bizarrely posed sex is going to cause a lightbulb moment "OMG all women are only sex objects!!!!!!!!!" response.

I also hate the "oh no, *I* never watch !!!!!!, I think it's disgusting" by women who spend fortunes on Mills and Boon and those erotic fiction books you can buy in Ann Summers, or who settle in to watch Lady Chatterley with Sean Bean because it's an adaptation of classic literature.

    GAHHHHH.

People like stuff that makes their naughty bits tingle. Why judge?

  • Morning all,

    Beautiful pics Mel :D

Some gorgeous new avvys knocking about too!

LOL at Bruno not being able to work a childs cup ;) are you working from home today Bruno?

I think I could do 29th September if anyone wants to meet. MIL is in the IOW that week so I will prob have Benjamin on the Wednesday.

Benjamin and I had our first really frustrating conversation this morning. We were in the car on the way to the CM and he was excitedly pointing at something and saying 'gog gog' (or something like that) and I hadn't a clue what he was talking about :( I kept asking if it was x - dog, lorry, trees (?), hot dog - but he just kept saying no and 'gog gog' and pointing. He got quite frustrated and upset that I didn't understand what he was saying and I got all :( because he clearly wanted to tell me something but I couldn't work out what.

    Poor babba :(

  • MFD we have conversations like that all the time. I can normally work things out from context (I worked out "ran" means orange when she was in the kitchen near the fruit bowl!), but it doesn't always work that way. Especially in the car when you can't see what they are pointing at :(

Bruno - I don't think there been bad nurseries is a reason not to use them, but knowing there are rubbish ones out there is definitely an extra reason to be extra careful when choosing which one to use. Of course the people running the nurseries ARE there to make money out of you, but that doesn't mean that the teachers working directly with the kids don't put their all in iyswim. I don't know if we are lucky at picking our nursery, but Izzy loves the one she goes to, and it is clear she is getting loads out of it (I can tell when I get home when she has had a good day!) I'm not sure I would feel the same about some of the others we looked at.

Anyway, I must push the hoover round and see if I can wash up before we have to go out. Have a great weekend everyone :)

Wish I was at home but I'm not; just on a long boring conference call that I can largely ignore.

Even at 2, we still have loads of those conversations MFD - especially me as I spend less time with E than OH does - he gets veeery annoyed with me if I don't get it by the third repetition or so. (I meant to say before MFD, except for the sleeping, Benjamin just is sooooo like E was and largely is :) it pleases me)

Well said LB :) you have encapsulated my thoughts.

Random, but... I don't suppose anyone would happen to have a Canon Ixus 80 IS in pink, lying around that they want to sell??

I've been looking for ages but can't find... My friend lost hers and her mother bought it, so hell will break loose :p

I think childcare is just about being happy with your choices and not having to question yourself internally as to whether your child is getting the care it needs - I think that applies to EVERY type of childcare from daycare to family members and babysitters. I wouldn't leave Benjamin with 2 of my SILs because I think there would be too many questions in my mind about how they would look after him - I might in an emergency because they are family and they love him but in general I would be more inclined to leave him with the PW than with them :p

I knew that these 'trying to communicate' conversations were coming, the first one just made me sad - he was SO frustrated bless him.

You have commented on Benjamin and E's likeness before Bruno - you must be getting old if you have forgotten ;)
As for the resemblance - clearly superior parenting :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
