Susan, this is a totally random question...I know plan on homeschooling Alice and I'm sure you try and fit in some educational activities right now - but at what age do you think you'll begin a sort of formal programme? The same as normal schools or maybe wait a bit to keep the approach more Montessori-esque? I'm just curious. I've always been very interested in home schooling, it's more popular in the States, even though we have a VERY long time to think about that sort of thing! ;)
I haven't really planned it in that much detail yet - I'm planning to see how it goes. I do like some parts of the Montessori approach but it does seem to have a big emphasis on creating artificial situations to teach things rather than being based in real life. I'd probably be closer to Charlotte Mason's ideas overall than Maria Montessori's.

Muso, I used to have a Hauk buggy, it was awful for pushing, ever so cumbersome considering it was supposed to be a lightweight buggy!

No idea about a petite star... You could probably hang the shopping on it if you spread it between a few bags and have it even on each side... Just don't let go of the buggy when it's loaded down... Or you could add weights to the front wheels to make it more stable... You can buy buggy weights but I think wrist/ankle ones would work...

I don't think Caitlyn likes pasta... She's been ditching the big pasta twists over the side of the high chair for a while so today I tried some mini pasta bows (very cute!) They just got ditched over in handfulls... Glad we had a plum kitchen pouch (reduced in Asda) as a back-up... But it kind of ruins one of our staple meals...

    The EFF?!?!!?

I've just handed Molly to Husband. His comment? Oh, AGAIN? I was just reading this; I've been playing with her for an HOUR.

Yes, and what the effing eff do you think I've been doing since you left at effing NINE AM?? I need a break too. I know you've just come in from work, but work is where you go to be a grown up and when you come home you get to be Daddy. Be Daddy.

Hubby is like that when he comes in from work too Sugar... I get sick of hearing "I've been at work all day" like running round after toddlers is a walk in the park...

Hi everyone! Hope you're all ok. Haven't posted in ages but I have been lurking and keeping an eye on you all!

Holly is 11 weeks today and she just seems so grown up now. Really starting to enjoy being a mummy now she's a bit more interesting and robust! I found the 1st 6 weeks quite difficult and she felt so fragile.

She's holding her head up really well for long periods now and making really cute noises. She has the most gorgeous smile and she's starting to play the piano! She sits on your lap and pushes the keys down with her fists while listening really intently.

    At the piano:

    In her cute raincoat:

Feeling a bit downhearted today. We really want to buy a bigger house, we currently have a very small 2 bed, so we had a valuation done today. It turns out things haven't improved as much as we'd thought and we're still in about 20k negative equity and stand no chance of getting the mortgage we need. I know we're lucky that we've got jobs and can afford a good lifestyle but I can't help but be really frustrated that we can't move on up.:(

We're stuck with our two bed apartment, I'm fed up of people saying oh Elliot would love a garden to run around...when I can't really do much about it! We can afford to move, but no one is buying around here it seems, especially not flats.

Loving all the very, very cute pics

D has already been naked in our garden but we live very rurally so the chances of anyone untoward seeing anything is remote. I am not sure if I would allow him to be naked in a public place though....

On the subject of nakedness, I won't be letting Elliot run around naked in public as i do worry about perves/wierdo's....but mainly the sun worries me. He's got pale skin like me, and i burn quickly!

When he's ready to potty train, I'll happily let him go naked around the house though. Will be easier then pulling clothes on and off to begin with :)

Looks like I'll be rushing around like an idiot on Friday, we might be going away that evening instead of Saturday morning. Because of going to the meet on thursday, i'll be doing all my packing etc on friday morning! :)

Damn, you mean I won't be allowed to say such things when I come in from my new job? I thought that was part of role reversal, that I can say all the lazy chauvinist things :rotfl:

Kindof, fab tooth! We have no teeth here, but we have very hard gums, lots of dribble and a stress head stroppy baby lol.
Muso, Lily went into 3-6m at 8 weeks. Now she's 5m and they are starting to be to big. Which brings me to..

Remember i said about the hv wanted us back to re weigh Lily due to hardly any weight gain.
Well her jeans and top, which used to fit, are very baggy on her today. The jeans keep falling down. They could be stretched but im stupidly worried cause she's still throwing up every bottle :(

Edit, i should add that she seems fine. She's smiley, happy and looks well in herself. Someone tell me im being a silly first time mummy :p

Red -got the coat from Mothercare. It's still quite big on her tho. It's 0-3 but shes a titchy bubs.

How old were your babies when they moved into 3-6 months clothes?

H is the only baby in my mum and baby group who's still in 0-3 and they're all the same age. We can still squeeze her into large newborn stuff too!

Thomas went into his just a couple of weeks before he hit 3 months but it very much depended where they come from. I find that Peacocks and BHS are a small fit while the Asda stuff comes up bigger. In sleepsuits the Asda ones are quite a small fit, esp once they've been washed. He definitely won't make it to 6 months with them tho!

EA, does she shuffle around much when she's on the floor? Maybe she's using up more energy than when she was lying still?

If you're worried about her throwing up her bottles, definitely tell the HV! :)

She is very active on the floor. She also has a very naturally thin Dad (grr to him :p)
