  • With the way work is at the moment we can't really plan Weezl but MFSIL seems to be warming to the idea ATM.

Lets just hope that I can get a job sorted and get settled in before he definitely decides he is too old! How long do you have to be somewhere to get maternity pay these days? ;)

It is certainly something that is in the back of my mind should I be in the lucky position of choosing employment or consultancy (which would be self employed).

If only i had something exciting to hide :rotfl: My brain is numb with boredom, i am plotting my next mission - decorating my scummy living room (in the hope someone might swap if i ever find anyone to view). But becoming demotivated because i can't see how i can realistically do it with a mobile and demanding Amber. I look around and it's just a huuuuuuuuuge job

Hi Beenie, :j ur back!! Just a quickie about ur living room, I was saying to my mum the other day how I wanna repaint my dining room/kitchen as we did it in a duck egg blue and are not that keen anymore, it's a bit bright!! Anyway, she suggested I do what she used to do, which is to do a little bit each day when T is napping, so I get everything ready in the morning like brushes etc, then as soon as he drops off, start painting one chunk of wall and only aim to get that done that day. I am thinking it sounds less daunting that way and less of a big chore IYKWIM. Hope that helps!!

    morning :D

hi beenie!! glad you are ok. Amber is sooo cute.

for photos... Max Spielman do a package for about £7 or £8. i know its not a very big photo but you might be able to pay extra for larger ones. think its 8" x 6" and then some small ones.

Kian is teething big time. everything is in his mouth. more so than usual.
bought the stairgate but its the one where you have to drill into the wall. so its not up yet as DH had a few drinks yesterday. Might do it tonight although as Kian is at nursery tomoz, DH is off so he could put it up then. Kian has already climbed to the top twice today!! he goes to the bathroom and stands up to look in the bath

My rascal rarely naps tbh! When i wallpapered the passage and kitchen, i would be constantly going back and forth meaning it took ages. I wish she'd have a proper 1hr+ nap during the day but she only really has 20m-ish and usually on me.

First mission would be de-cluttering the room, and for that i need to tidy my bedroom so i have room for other stuff :o

I need to remove the dado, remove the weird shelves, strip the walls, fill crack in ceiling from leak, fill in dents in walls from my neighbour bashing :o, gloss doors, windowsill and skirting, and panelling behind radiator. Paint ceiling (hate this job :() And then from there it would be a bit more bearable to do, i can just about handle wallpapering.

Problem is, the stairs are sorta open in the living room so i'd need to continue up there which is a big job in itself anyway. I need a ladder.

Also want to get rid of the ugly concrete hearth, but my friend said that might not be as simple as it sounds.

Waffle alert :p There - now i have a list ^^ i can get cracking :eek::rotfl: (so i reckon this is about 2 yrs worth of work)

    Morning everyone :)

Hiya Beenie, nice to "see"you. Im not on a limited profile for you, so it might just be a glitch?
My FB is set to stupid privacy settings and i dont know how to edit some of them. Ah well , at least no one can see my profile :D

We're going for lunch with the baby group today, im nervous as im not really a 'group' kind of person.

We're getting our PAYG gas metre fitted today :j I hate monthly direct debit.

Lily is being a stroppy moo at the moment, she keeps shouting at me in her telling off voice and throwing her toys around
She's only 5 months not 15! :rotfl:

I just found out my new friend/neighbour is a photographer. Maybe i can get some pics of Lily done

 the shop downstairs from us has recently changed hands - from a shop selling overpriced cheap import jewellery from China run by a bitter old chainsmoker to a shop selling overpriced cheap import jewellery from China run by a bitter young chainsmoker with two small children, who she brings to work and allows to run around shrieking up and down the stairs of the apartments area and in the courtyard. Our bedroom faces out onto the courtyard and those little monsters keep disturbing my little monster.

But I have finished my first work thing for today and the beastie is at least nominally napping, so I am off to shower and then collect things for the post office and *then* send an important email.

My driving intructor has asked me to take my theory test soon... I think that means I'm making progress <eep>

Mfd, you can get maternity allowance as long as you work so many weeks within the qualifying period... I lost my job when I was 10 weeks pregnant with Aimee and just scraped through with qualifying weeks... I think most places like you to be there a year if there's any kind of enhanced pay...

With decorating, I've just always done it once the children are in bed if it's a main room... Although I'm still waiting for DH to paint the hall, stairs and landing and they'll just be done while the children are shut out of the way...

Nice to see you Beenie and Weezl :)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

In my experience MFD you basically only have to be employed before you get pregnant. If you are self emplyed you get MA but you can't work while you are receiving it.

Beenie that is a lot to do!

I am thinking about painting our living room as we have just signed another year's tenancy. Not sure what colour though, we have a dark beige suite but the carpet is a 1970's patterned green / red / blue / yello / pink thing  DH wants to get a new carpet but I'm reluctant to do that as I probably want to move out next summer. We could always get a big rug but would it look stupid with the dodgy carpet at the edges of the room? I dunno!

Ah yeah that's another thing with Amber, she's been waking up within 10mins of putting her in her cot, and nothing will get her back down and the only way to shut her up is to let her come back downstairs where she'll sit sucking her fingers on the couch until she falls asleep. Usually this is around 11pm...

    Not sure what happened there!!
