hey all - I've been fairly quiet the past few days, but have been lurking. Just lots of things going on IRL. I kinda realised in a panic yesterday that my permanent residency application will be made next month and I have yet to take the required citizenship test - oops!! queue frantic buying of study manual and booking of test for a couple of weeks. On top of that, I'm trying to keep with my 10 hour minimum for my work-from-home job. AND we've just found and gotten our offer agreed on a new place (rental still) down in Sussex!! So been keeping busy, mostly obsessing about property.

Anyway, about a week ago, DH got a bee in his bonnet (and when he does, he's practically unstoppable) about moving, since our lease that we've already renewed once was ending next month. Considering I've pretty much decided to leave my job and look for something else, the timing seemed like it could work. So we're temporarily borrowing the deposit from MIL until we get this one back and throwing caution into the wind a bit in order to escape the city.

So we've gotten a flat which is about 2 seconds from East Grinstead station and city centre (ironically, a huge improvement our London place now which is 15 min walk away!) but we can still go to cool things like Pick You Own farms and stuff less than 5 mi away ;).

I am NOT looking forward to moving though - cleaning this flat (yikes!), packing and then physically moving with a baby and ten times more stuff than last time. Yuuuuuck.

Just hope this won't be a massive mistake or anything.

    As you were!

Aless, i found moving with a baby was easier than moving generally.

Mainly because i became sole baby carer and all the men took all the boxes to the van. And also i did the least cleaning as Lily wanted my attention :p
  • Sounds good to me Aless... is DH still going to be commuting to his job ?

3 - My Asda had tons of boxes of huggies nappies....I am pretty sure they were only size 3 though £5.50? Right at the entrance......I had a big row with dh before setting off though so was in no mood to even be in Asda, and just stomped round ignoring him and chucking things randomly into the trolley, I ended up well over buying and spent £75 on what was meant to be 'a few bits for the weekend'!!!!

    Sorry I wasn't more useful:(

Well, he works in Surrey so this actually cuts the commute time for him slightly (more miles, but faster as it's all A roads rather than through the city).

Normally we aren't bad in them, as I do the shopping he just pushes the trolley, entertains the kids and maybe mentions the odd item that he would like, I then ok whether we can afford it:p

I don't even know exactly what started the row, but I sure as hell wasn't going to back down and take responsibility for it when it was him who started it, well grown up me:rotfl:
