I love baby potato skewers. Boil some baby potatoes, toss in butter or olive oil and some herbs garlic etc then skewer and toast on th BBQ. And fruit chunks on skewers. Pineapple orange apple etc. Shame some cinnamon over the top.

I am in such a mood. The house is a pigsty but I get so a grey that I have to clean it that I don't get actually cleaning it. I hate feeling like this but it's all I ever see
To do recently is feel angry. Or so sad that everything is a struggle. And the holiday was utter crap. Wish we hadn't go e at all it was so bad.

Hugs Tia, you sound really down. I get like that with the cleaning, when it gets really messy I just can't face it but luckily I eventually get to a point where I crack and blitz it :p This week has been good as MIL is visiting at the weekend so OH has helped me totally clean the flat and it's gleaming now. Recently I've set a rule that I don't leave any dirty dishes before going to bed otherwise it gives me a bad start to the day when I get up and see dishes that need washing. Sorry about your holiday.

    Evening,

Had a mega catch up so congratulations, hugs and yay's all round.

We took Katie swimming tonight she was a very grown up girl without a swim nappy, she definitely doesn't like to be held in the water anymore, she was doing everything possible to swim on her own.

She was super funny though as I tried to teach her a new game - Grand Old Duke of York - I did it with her once, she swam to DH and tried to repeat but she only remembered half the words - the final action is being dunked.

We followed it up with a chippy tea!

DH put her to bed in her own room for the first time tonight - only took him an hour!
Proud to be dealing with my debts

Has anyone seen the baby gate or bouncer half price? Trafford had loads but all still full price. wonder if it's worth trying again tomorrow? They had 2 different babygates
If you won't need it for a while (?) you can have my door bouncer at the next manc meet, barely used it , can't see me ever using it for any subsequent babies :p

If it's any consolation kindof I still don't know what to do either!! It's only been a recent thing in this house that we are actually able to settle T without feeding which made me wonder if we could have been doing this weeks ago but we didn't try. I used to immediately feed him!!

Now I play it by ear and try to settle him in the night but if he is proper crying and won't respond to me flicking the glowworm on then I tend to feed him, as it seems if he is gonna settle then he quietens down quite quickly and keeps shutting his eyes, even though he fights it for a little bit. Well either that will have helped or confused u even more har har!!

PS T also woke up about 15 mins ago and he settled back down too, I just assume it's where he stirs during his sleep cycles, I wouldn't think it's cos he thinks he's only having a nap, as surely they are much more tired and want to go back to sleep. See, more confusing waffle based on nothing!!

No you made sense lol you didnt confuse me :)

Well He woke last night at 10.30 and I tried just giving him his dummy and putting his moblie back on but he wasnt having any of it lol, so I fed him and he had about 5oz, then he woke at 12.45am and I was just too tired to try it :( so I fed him again and he took another 5oz, then he woke at 4am and I tried him on a bottle again and only had like 2oz so that time I def think he wanted just settling again? Then he decided to get up at 6am, I am soooooooooo tired!

    I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired

E woke me up at 6, he is still in his cot talking to himself I am going to leave him there in the hopes he goes back to sleep lol unless he starts cryign of course lol hopefully I will get time to drink my coffee and wake up a bit before I have to go and get him

  • Oh FGS! I woke up at 7:07 in a panic, jumped out of bed, made coffee, had a shower, half dried my hair and woke Benjamin up at 7:30 only to realise that it was actually 6:30 and we are nearly ready over an hour early!

Looks like Benjamin managed to add an hour to my alarm clock yesterday morning and I failed to notice :(

    Ouch Mfd!

Shall I tell you what's worse though?

After nearly a week of getting up closer to 7am with Hubby, he made me promise to get up with Caitlyn this morning... Her chosen time? 5am...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

    What a mega catch-up post choppy :D

Actually, it is me as a baby - they hadn't invented cameras when hubby was teeny tiny - the M6 was still cobbled then!!

    How embarrassing :o

Urgh at getting up so early

Hope this works its the post that Beenie did (no 915 if it doesnt) it gives you the instructions if I remember correctly

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=34535443&postcount=915

Thanks Maz (to both things). I'll have a look at Beenie's post.

I have just realised I've got the boiler being serviced between 2 and 4, and I've booked Caitlin in for her first hair cut at 2:45.

We're going swimming this morning which starts at 9:30, so need to get a wriggle on!

    Hugs to tired mummies.

P.S. Where's Becles? I haven't seen her for a while. So many faces missing :(

Boo - thanks I will keep an eye out for them and get some for when she is bigger, they look so cute on Isla, and honest I wont copy your pic with the tutu (crosses fingers behind back).

Kindof - T sleeps in her travel cot thru the day (apart from the odd short nap on me after a feed). Although she does occasionally fall asleep on our bed too if I'm up there doing something. To be honest she'll nap where ever though pushchair, car seat, floor!

redstar - lovely pics, Im uber jelous of peeps with door bouncers.

Buttons - best of luck to you hun, you deserve it x

    MFD - cute pics :D

CAFC - great news about L and G getting on. I was relieved when T and Harvey met and they are so good together :)

Pigpen - you LO is so cute and I love the name you chose for her, congrats to you all xxx

JAM - the cats look like there saying "Do you not feed this child!"

SJ - Thats sacrelidge (sp) no gravy  and beans!!
EA - Could I have that FB linkie for portsmouth prams please, I dont mind travelling if I can get one for a good price.

Cant remember who posted which idea but bananas and choc buttons and fruit with cinnamon are fab bbq ideas, will def try both of those when we get a place with a garden and a bbq :)

Well baby clinic was manic yesterday and ended up waiting so long to be seen had to dash back to the car and get another ticket! T now ways 14lb 11oz and is still on 50th centile so thats good, and talked to HV about starting to wean. She was all for us starting now T is 5 months. I did mention we wanted to do BLW and she was really pleased as they said not many people want to give it a go and could I let her know how I get on, so I thought that was really nice. We will mix in a few puree's to start too as her hand to mouth cordination is hit and miss atm, but she can have some of our carrots and broccoli to start playing with at dinner. Debating buying a BLW book just for some ideas, but am sure Internet is more MSE, but a book I could show to OH and more importantly MIL.

Right off Mura hunting again see if anything new has appeared. So far am checking Ebay, Netmums, Freecycle, Free ads, Gumtree, Pre loved and Prams for sale. My friend said Im Mura whipped!!! Any ideas of other places I can check? I dont mind a drive if its a good buy, we nearly got one in Essex yesterday.

  • Morning all. Sorry I poppen so so briefly last night. I caved in and sat with Izzy while she went to sleep. Then I had to do the same for 2 hours in the middle of the night too.

As of tonight we will resart CC trying with maximum consistency and willpower. And she won't be getting away with a two and half hour nap today either :rotfl:.

I ignored DH's alarm this morning, and it didn't wake Izzy up either, so the poor lamb had to walk to the bus stop. I expect grumpiness later :rotfl:.

I've not been on for a few days, so time for a catchup, as I've no idea what anyone is talking about. Is there anything important I need to know?
