Tara, I would really like to be able to come and I think SM has done a fab job of organising everything.
Unfortunately, as I think I've mentioned before, I don't think it will be possible at the moment as my husband really doesn't understand me getting involved with an online group - he doesn't mind me reading and posting, but he would be really angry if I went to Birmingham to meet up with everyone and I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it without his knowledge, so until I can persuade him to change his mind about online communities in general, I can't join in :(.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)
  • I don't think that not being able to come or not wanting to come is ignoring SM and her efforts.

To be fair, there aren't even that many more people within travelling distance and even if they are then they should feel no obligation to come and no obligation to respond if they don't want to come.

I hope nobody feels that they have done wrong because of your comments.

Maz, is there no way you can get him into the Dr/nurse and get them to say it isn't and take him back to nursery?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Maz - best wishes to William. I hope he feels better soon.

I've not been invited to Birmingham and even if I was, i'm not really a 'meet with people' kinda chap. I'm sure most of you are lovely, but I am fairly private and busy with a handful of youngsters anyway. I'm just not a meet/posting pics/names kind of person, partially as i'm hoping my two ex partners never turn up on here  I'm sure SM's organisation skills are appreciated and that all that do go have a great time. It looks like 9 or 10 of you with children, which is a nice size group.

Not getting impatient, but when does the midwife usually get in touch after going to the GP? It's only been 5 days, but Lucy will be 6 weeks this week and the GP said week 8 or 9 will be the first midwife appointment. With my girls, the GP asked us to make an appointment then and there, but didn't this time.

Red - my DH doesn't get it either, but he doesn't really get computers anyway, however, he knows the support I gained from another online community when going through fertility treatment and pregnancy.

He's actually come with both times I've met people from here, which helped - would that be an option?

Hi MDW, thank-you for your comment. Unfortunately it's not really an option. My husband doesn't really 'mix well with people' (outside of the family, obviously)! He hates socialising and is reluctant to mix, even with people we know quite well. Ironically, he works with computers, but he's really cynical about people who post on forums - he doesn't believe anyone is who they claim to be! :o
He knows that I find this forum a huge help, so he has no problem with me reading and posting, he just wouldn't want me to meet up in RL :(.
(I don't mean any offense, because obviously I know you're all lovely!)

Some have explained, and Red thank-you, and yes I hope some do feel bad as I know about the 'pm' messaging that goes on and am very umcomfortable with it. The majority of people are lovely and need not feel bad at all but this thread has got clicky and it's made worse by some, they can feel as bad as they like but they won't. The nasty remarks that get messaged behind the scenes are not nice and quite frankly I'm way too old for it.

It is with tears that I say my goodbyes, you've been amazing and got me through some terrible times, and some very happy ones. SM gets a hard time on here and is ignored by many, I don't always agree with her choices but have always talked to her about it. I'm absolutely sure others don't agree with mine but why should they, they're mine to make. I may post occasionally but don't think it fair to just come on and not keep up to date with others. I have read this thread almost every day for abouth 18mths now so will miss some of you very much. Too upset to type now...
