Why did you pick Santorini?
I have been before and loved the island. It is so beautiful and the history is amazing. I have wanted to go back ever since...
...but mostly the flights fit in perfectly with when we needed to go (we had a window of precisely 1 day to fit in with DSS going back to school) and the island isn't full of chavs
Hubby and I love our holidays and once I start a new job (presuming of course I get a new job) it will be a while until I accrue enough holiday to go again. The thought of not going anywhere else until 2011 makes us both go :eek:please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman

Maz have you taken him to the GP to find out what his spots were? I'm soo curious

When we initially went she said " oh might be chickenpox, just keep an eye and if they blister it will be" so not much use tbh..she's supposed to be a women and children specialist but useless if you ask me... they have gone right down and only just started itching yesterday.. I think they were gnat bites...even girls at nursery on friday said that.. so 2 days paid for that he wasnt there but oh wellSarah_Joanne wrote: »II am in bonny Scotland just now. MIL has given me a BNWT amazing Coast dress that she bought and has never worn as it's too small.
It's this one...
It doesn't look as long and slim on me though as I'm so short lol
nice dress SJ...
MFD - so pleased for you...great to have a holiday together.Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
I'm a big fan of Santorini and we were there for part of our honeymoon but I am too into lazy beach-lying, if I was going to just one Greek island for a week's break I'd pick one of the easier ones I think. But Santorini is awesome

The other (non-port) side of the island is flat and beachy Bruno

We are currently 'in discussion' about whether we stay in Thira where I have spied a lovely looking little hotel or staying on the other side of the island which is a bit more like any other greek island...
Do you think Thira is a silly option for a couple with a 10 year old and a 17 month old toddler? Your honest opinion would be appreciated (any anyone elses who knows Santorini)
Gorgeous pic!please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman

Uhhm... not really silly, probably ok. What will 10 year old be expecting from his holiday? will you rent a car or anything?
On way to bed now anyway but I am sure it will work out excellently

Lovely pic Bruno

How typical is this, I managed to get T settled and in bed for ten.o.clock and within less than 10 mins K started waking/coughing/crying....We perservered to get him settled back in bed but he was whimpering and crying so he is now downstairs with us, if it isn't one....... In an unrelated matter;), I have now cleared my wardrobe and all my maternity clothes and post pregnancy 'large' clothes are ready to be listed on eBay, along with 3 bin bags full of baby clothes, boys and girls from newborn up to 12mths. DH is very proud of me:D I also have 3 bin bags of clothes to go out to the charity collection people!!
We are off to the docs tomorrow, me for my review, my 6wk check and I am going to try back on the mini pill...maybe? I will get a double appt and get K seen to aswell. I need to try and get this book finished within the next day or so, I am sure he is eager for my assessment.
MFD - very jealous of your holiday, I hadn't heard of Santorini before but just googled it, it looks beautiful:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -

He said as long as it is hot and he gets to swim every day then he is happy just to hang out with us and Benjamin
He is a very good 10 year old - we very rarely hear him moan or say he is bored (only child - used to being in adult compay a lot).
We will probably rent a car for a couple of days - not sure you need much longer to do the island really. Mostly we will hang around in the morning and wander aimlessly in the afternoon - we are big walkers when we are away.
Edit - thanks Mel - it is a beautiful island.please listen to MFD - she is a wise woman
