Gill are you planning on starting with baby rice/baby cereals etc when you start weaning? I have some samples and coupons that i want rid of so would you use them?

I think so - I have 1 box of rice and 3 boxes of cereal that I bought for 50p each at Boots (See Boo, you weren't lying!) I also have fifyt million jars for 4-6 months that were 18p each! Would love your samples definitey....not sure if I would use coupons as I seem to have quite a lot. Not sure how long rice etc lasts for tho.

I've just been reading the packets and it says I have to mix them with his usual milk, which in my case is breastmilk. Do people usually express and use that or use some other milk?? lol

Hi Gill, I started off expressing milk to mix in the cereals but once T was 6 months I started using full fat cows milk instead. HTH!

Boogelly, I have requested that book online from my library so thanks for the tip, I am willing to try anything :)

Off to bed now, love listening to the manky weather outside for a change xx

Gill I know from 6 months they can have whole cows milk for cereals/cooking with etc. I'm not too sure any earlier though. If Isla was waiting on me expressing for her cereal she'd have a long wait, it takes me an hour for 1 oz! It's a good job she likes it dry :rotfl:

Clever Benjamin :T He might surprise you mfd, my cousin did similar with her little girl and all of a sudden she started using the potty and was out of nappies quite early on. (IIRC practically no accidents by 18 months)

haha Millie's Mum...she even brought lunch, I thought she was going to pull out a picnic rug an all sorts. and tbh if i wasn't going out for the school run she probably would have still been there another 4hrs later!!!

    Thanks SJ

I used take lunch when I went to visit one of my friends :o She is a very good friend tho and started telling me not to bring my lunch and she makes it for me now :j

If I think I'm outstaying my welcome I usually check if they have any plans!

I had some friends come round the other week to meet T for the first time. They arrived at 2...I expected them to stay a couple of hours. DH had to go to work at 5.00 and they were still here! I had to feed T again and thought they'd go then but they didnt. They then started talking about what they were having for tea so I said I'd have to get my tea soon, and ring my grandma and get T to bed....they still didnt leave! They finally went at 6.45pm....giving me time to quickly ring grandma while tea was cooking, shove tea down throat and then get T in his bath. I was not best pleased lol

I got some of these too :rotfl:

You should have seen DH's face when he saw all the bags I was pulling out from under the pram! He said that I never do things by halves.

I do quite well with my new electric breast pump but it's a pita lol Guess I'll have to do that for 4-5 months, depending when I start, and then move on to whole cows milk at 6.

Your all very lucky. I've searched all 3 boots stores in my area and found nothing reduced.

Doesn't help with DH in the background saying (quite loudly) "THE OFFER NAPPIES ARE HERE, 2 FOR £15" and im saying "Its not them! These are reduced! Alongside the baby food!" and he keeps saying "Stop believing everything you read online, its probably a lie"

    He's such a !!!!!! sometimes... lol!

When i looked at the jars he was like "Why are you looking? We're not giving Lily that!"

He was sucked into the 'jar food is poison' seminar by our local HV's... lol
