One of those baby swim seats perhaps? We didn't find it that useful with Alice but kept it because I figure it's more sueful when you have multiple children. (Sorry if someone has already suggested it - I haven't fully caught up yet.)

Thanks for this suggestion, Susan - this could be the answer, I hadn't thought of a baby seat. I'll look into it.

I wouldn't, Red - I'd go through the non-paying bidder process and tell her that's the only way to get your fees back.

    Childminding Update:
I went to see a childminder today and was relieved that she was a 100% improvement on last week’s horror. :T I don’t think it’s quite the perfect scenario for my preferences, but she was nice enough and I felt comfortable enough that if I don’t find anyone else, I would be happy for Holly to go to her 1 day per week. I think it would be like going to your Gran’s, very much a homely environment. I met her husband too and they clearly think of the kids as members of their family. They have never had children of their own (I wondered if that’s why she took up childminding but didn’t like to ask) and they had a few photos up of kids they had looked after over the years, and obviously still keep in touch with as they knew their first minded child who is now 16 was on holiday in Scarborough at the moment!
She has 3 other little girls at the moment (2, 4, 7) who were all very pleasant and were loving fussing over and playing with Holly. She doesn’t drive, so said she doesn’t really go out with them much though, and the house was quite small, so there wasn’t a lot of space to do much, or sleeping facilities, but I think she would put effort into playing with the kids and just the questions she asked me, showed that she was interested in what Holly is like etc which is a good sign I think. :)

Off for a quick catch up. x

Really pleased that you had a more positive experience Fitzio!

    morning :D

hope everyone and Lo's are ok

had a lie-in today!! Kian woke at 6 for his bottle, he finally setlled back down, but not asleep about 7ish. next thing i know he's shouting out and its 8.45am!! yay!!

he's discovered today that if he pulls himself up against his toy box he can get all his toys out- or the ones he can reach lol! floor is covered with his toys. he's gone for a nap now.

and he's decided he doesnt want to eat his fromage frais anymore... so now i have loads of the little stars as they were on special at asda... although i dont have enough codes for the free book as my mum accidentally (didnt realise i wanted them) threw the 1st code i had out. doesnt matter too much though cos i love fromage frais too :D

dont usually watch Jeremy Kyle but his morning's was ace. dunno if anyone else watched it? it was al on children who have different medical conditions etc. one girl had alopeica (sp?) she was 13, and NHS only gave her nylon wig so they arranged for her to have a real hair' wig so she can straighten/curl it etc.
there was a baby who's skull didnt form properly and the brain grew outside the skull...they dont now how long she will live could be months or years, i was in tears....
