    Hi Mel,
We stayed in a holiday park, south of the border, when we got married - I think it was a Haven one. It was cheap, clean and ok, but I wasn't overly impressed - the area seemed a bit grotty, I don't think I'll be in a hurry to go back there. If you're really stuck though, I'll see if I can find the details.

Thanks, but anything other than Haven and I would be very interested:p We had a bad Haven experience earlier this year, and have decided we won't use them again!

EDIT....just seen your next post haha...will have a look as it isn't Haven:)

I'm trying to remember the details - I don't think the actual site was particularly bad, I just wasn't particularly keen on the area outside of the park. It's not that far from Gretna - we weren't actually planning to get married when we booked the break, we just realised that we were close to Gretna and thought that 'we might as well, while we're there'!

Mel, we stayed in the Garden House Hotel when we got married, but IIRC it was rather pricey. Our friends stayed in something cheaper in Carlisle...I'm trying to remember what it was, but it was chain hotel IYSWIM...

Miss Molly is a tired grumpy horror today :(

She's been awake for an hour and I'm out of patience. I was going to take her to the outdoor pool, but while she's this out of sorts I don't think I can.

My sister is staying in the gables hotel....

I was thinking of checking out the local chain hotels too Aless.... was thinking I might get a cheapy deal, but think I am best to book asap just in case we can't get a room closer to the date.

Red...how far away was it from Gretna??

Mel, I've just found it...it was the Ibis Hotel, but they were 2 20-somethings so no idea what it's like for families. (but it was one of the cheapest in the area)
